I've been seeing this a lot lately. So because of a couple of poor performances for England when he wasn't fully fit, we're now casually ignoring the previous 5 seasons where he's been our first choice right winger, and for the first 6 months of last season especially, one of the best wingers in Europe? Some things amaze me on this site :-|

Our top assister with 10 league assists, joint 6th assister in the prem last season. Despite only playing for ruddy half of it.

Harry's playing the transfer game. Of course theres money, we're just waiting on Shitty to finish their business so the market can return to normal conditions.

Who knows what's really going on? It does seem strange though. I've been a spurs fan for 12 years and we've ALWAYS had some money to spend in the summer transfer window, regardless of sales. Always. We didn't even spend in January.

We gave Ramos and Comolli ridiculous amounts to spend to get us where Harry actually did last season. Our aim for the last 5 seasons finally achieved and we suddenly have no money to consolidate that position, doesn't that seem a little odd?

i'm amazed you find it amazing - lennon's been out of form for what, six months now

of course if he gets his form back he goes straight into the team, but on current form he's not worth a starting spot

These are the exact words that Harry used about Ireland.

“I like him, but he is expensive.
“Maybe he’ll be £11m or 12. We wouldn’t be in a position to spend that much on him if that’s what they’re wanting.”

It's a confusing statement that, but maybe we have to sell before we have to buy?
Or we don't think he's worth that much?

Its pretty ridiculous. I think Lennon did enough last season to warrant a starting place. He didn't have much of a chance to get back in the groove at the end of last season, and its futile judging any player on their England performances. If he's poor at the start of the season he can be replaced in the first 11, by David Bentley. I'm highly doubtful as to whether Dos Santos can play in midfield in a 4-4-2.

He should be back by late August early Septmeber though, shouldn't he? Which may be around the time Lennon would be dropped if he's as poor as you're suggesting he's going to be. Do you really think Dos Santos can play midfield in a 4-4-2?

:) brett - i am serious - what i'm trying to do is confront people's perceptions that they can write in lennon's name on their teamsheets and that makes lennon good again

i called it right during the world cup when i said milner should replace lennon, and a lot of spurs fans didn't like that call

now i didn't see lennon's appearance during the friendly - but apparently it was 'less than good'

and that GDS was better on the night

now i'm not a big GDS fan, but no-one can seriously suggest that lennon had a better world cup than GDS - he didn't - simple as

so i'll be watching lennon v benfica to see if there's any improvement

i've been right once already over lennon's lack of form/fitness once this summer

if he start showing he's back to near his best in the next couple of friendlies - he should be in the team

but if he continues his lack of form what's shocking about resting an out of form player?

capello was precisely castigated for failing to do this, and picking players on reputation not performance

you are serious? You are aware than Lennon got injured on the 28th December and didnt make his return until the 1st May? Kind of makes your statement saying his form has been rubbish for 6 months look a little bit silly? Time to retract that me thinks...............

What Pringle said.

Saying he's been out of form for 6 months is stupid when he's barely played in those 6 months, it's like me saying Woodgate has been out of form for a year.

Couldnt disagree more - he hasnt put a foot wrong, you cannot blame him for any of the goals conceded in the last few months.

Tell you something else as well - Pele, whats happened to him? He cant even find a team to play for now - totally out of form evidently..........................

i'm not arguing anymore - saying my view is stupid is crossing a line for me

and of course woodgate won't be starting v city - why because he's been injured and therefore effectively out of form - but you clearly don't get how wrong that comparison makes you and proves my point

who's putting woodgate in their teams? - no-one!

anyway have the last word(s), cos i'm not arguing with people who go down the 'stupid' line

 mate you said that Lennon had been out of form for 6 months. Lennon was injured for the first 4 months of the year, played 16 mins against Bolton, 71 against Man City, 90 mins against Burnley, 90 mins against USA. So you are saying Lennon has been out of form for 6 months yet has only actually played 267 minutes of competitive football in that time.................. No 1 was calling you stupid - however your comment was stupid

Uh oh......you used the  emoticon.......that's you straight on the DC_Boy ignore list. Anyone who uses this is just asking for trouble.

I'm on his list but I cant remember why. I think it was because I said Jermain Beckford was rubbish or something.
