Dont care how we get them, they all count, more thankfull we have stopped leaking the goals.

true, however sometimes we are guilty of trying to walk it in or trying too hard to find the killer pass into the box, even when sometimes there's space to hit the damn thing.

It'd be an extra dimension to our game, which is always something we should be striving to achieve.

In Keano's first season with us, it seemed at least half of his goals were screamers from outside the box but he tends to have sacrificed this to be more in the box and is scoring more proilifically for it (although of course there was the lovely 2 against Fulham last year plus the one against Wigan!).

Can't really think many other players apart from the Hudd, who I have actually seen score long-rangers in the current team.

Long rangers aside for a sec, I'd like to see us score more directly from free kicks - when Bale is out of the team we sadly seem to have no-one capable of this... (Berba did it against the Spammers last year but doesn't seem to be given many opportunities at taking free kicks?).

Berba had another nice try against Slavia Prague this season, only kept up from a brilliant save, so he can hit them when they're right outside and close to the penalty area...we rarely get FKs there, though, as we use our wings so often.

Ohara scored against prague outside the box.. took a deflection but they all count:)

One of the things I've noticed about Spurs is that we very rarely score any goals from outside the area. In many ways this is a good thing - we're not running out of ideas and just walloping hopeful shots at goal. The vast majority of our goals stem from passing and movement, normally culminating in Keano or Berbatov finishing from close range.

However, it would be nice to get the occasional screamer from outside the box. Aside from Huddlestone against Fulham, I can't remember any goals we've scored from outside the box, particularly compared with other teams. I don't know if this is down to players being crap at shooting from distance (I'm thinking about Zokora in particular) or whether the coaching staff want us to focus on possession and passing, so the players aren't encouraged to have a pop.

Any thoughts?

I think Bale will get a few long range goals next season

Of course I don't mind where the goals come from, but there are times when teams are defending in the box and we just can't score from close range.

In contrast, until recently we've been very susceptible to long-range shots. There have been countless games in the last few seasons which would have finished 0-0 but we let in a screamer. Think of Nani against us at Old Trafford or away at Chelsea last season when Carvalho scored.
