Idependant reported in 2007 that usmanov had talks with us and liverpool before buying a stake in arsenal.

The only problem is that the reason the oligarchs bought stakes in football clubs was because putin told them to. He wanted influence in order to get russia the world cup. That's done and the oligarchs seem to be backing off. We'll see.

I wouldn't mind it.

Dunno why it's so outrageous an idea. Levy has said the club is always for sale. Joe has been rumoured to want to sell up. Usmanov has just sold his stake in arsenal. I'll believe it when i see it but it is not beyond the realms of possibility.

He's a Russian oligarch. Those guys aren't famous for being great friends. Blowing up their friends maybe. I think if he's looking to buy a club he'll try and buy the one that he sees as the best investment.

Lot of question marks over Where Everton’s owners money comes from and if it is actually his money... have been some reports (Panorama last year) and I think the guardian as well saying that he is just a front for uzmanov.. think he used to be his accountant or something like that.
