I thought so.

I know he's not doing so great but these are the games that Bale needs to be involved in to really get him back into groove.

He's gunna be more up for a PL game than a Europa game and will likely push his body more.

If Vini isn't injured I hope we don't regret not having him as an option.

Today is the last “test” I’m waiting to see this team pass. I have no concerns of winning against top half teams but outside the Arsenal game we have struggled against the few lower table teams we have played. Draw against Newcastle (which was bullshit) then barely beating Brighton, Burnley and West Brom.

I expect today to be difficult because Palace are not bad but I’d love for us to put 3 or 4 past them and go into Liverpool flying high.
we didn't struggle to beat Brighton

Well if it can be reported that he’s ill then we know for sure it is not Covid. The Prem has gone from being transparent about the tests and results during Project Restart to being dead silent this season about them.

What's this mystery illness going through the squad? We've had a few now...

Jose clearly chose the 'Treat at club' option rather than the 'Send home' option when we got the first case. Rookie mistake.

My dad passed away this morning.
He was an Ipswich Town supoirter but always had a soft spot for Spurs. We lived 10years of our lives in Bruce Grove.
He wanted us to win the league this season...
I hope we win today for a special man with a great heart.

Firstly, Ackie, really sorry for your loss.

I’m not overly surprised Gio doesn’t start today, he’s played a lot of football this week. I think him coming into form and being on the bench will get the best out of our midfielders. Actually think Ndombele has had a couple of under par games recently and think he will step up big time today.

Good to see Dele on the bench, maybe he really made a good impression and reacted well to not playing on thursday and he loves a good goal v. palace.
Thanks @InOffMeLeftShin .

I hope dele gets a chance to shine

I'm more concerned about this game than I was the previous 3. Please Spurs just please.

I think it is more likely that Bale is not working hard enough to justify a place in the squad, let alone the actual team. Against Liverpool expect to see the two WFs working incredibly hard defensively.
Just as I thought, people reading too much into his absence. It was just announced that he is actually sick

Outside of Lo Celso, I can't see Mourinho making any changes for either the Liverpool or Leicester games. That means almost all of these players will have to play 3 games in a week against difficult opposition. Rotation against Stoke and Fulham is more likely.

Most important today is to see Bergwijn create in the final third. It makes sense for Mourinho to opt for him, as he is the longer term option in the squad at the position, but good defensive work when you are one of three forwards in a team that doesn't get many midfield goals, isn't enough to win the title. We have four excellent players in Bale, Bergwijn, Lamela, and Moura, but none of them have established themselves as far above the others, and we need one of them to become a key player in the final third (it might have been Lamela based on his form early in the season).
