No but he was a Harry favourite and we all know that they get preferential treatment. He was actually injured as well too, and redknapp still came on. Bear my views are ridiculous to you because I don't rate Parker. A player you place too much importance on when it comes to the fortune of Spurs. I' not saying that Livermore was the answer, more that we could have had other players who were younger, quicker, stronger and better footballers than Parker. IF heart was all that was needed to be a pro, we'd all be in the Spurs first team, but we have carried a past it player for too long. See i'm not calling him any rude words or anything just providing an insight into why I don't rate him, if you could argue a rational case for him still being at Spurs next season, I would be more than happy to entertain the debate. Instead you'll probably spout some rhetoric or call me a **** for not rating your favourite player. You call Defoe an insipid ****, yet still get shirty when someone dares to criticise parker.

Haha Spurs Bear and I were even arguing about this last season, if you criticize Parker you are certain to endure his wrath.

I even remember SB comparing Parker to Scholes, said something along the lines of Parker would be as good as Scholes if he was better on the ball.

To be fair I think I probably see what I want to see to a certain extent, and Spurs Bear does as well. The truth probably lies somewhere between our interpretations. It's impossible not to exhibit confirmation bias when you've been arguing for something for so long.

Parker was crucial to us last year and he was needed at the time.... but lets be honest he was only ever going to be an immediate fix (just like Gallas before him and like Dempsey is now) rather than a long term solution - who didn't see that?

I don't have any criticism to level at him, he's put his shift in when needed. But, to me the guys been slowly burning himself out for years by taking the money instead of going to the bigger clubs where he'd be rotated and managed properly. All that draining work keeping relegation fodder in the Premiership is catching up to him.

Personally I think he should be sold, the teams upward trajectory is catching his downward turn and at the end of the season we'll still be able to flog him for a couple of million without it really affecting our performance. It's good business all round to sell IMO. No hard feelings, thanks Scott and best wishes, see you when you've finished your badges.

Parker is not my favourite player.

In fairness I don't remember saying that about the Scholes comparison, but it's not as stupid as claiming Livermore is a better passer and should be starting ahead of Parker (punkisback), or saying Naughton should start ahead of Walker at RB (various ****s) or comparing Huddlestone to Pirlo (various other stupid ****s).

This is a pretty accurate version of events.

Has been a great player for us. Shows how far we have gone as a club when people debate whether he is good enough for us.

I think his box to box style minus the goals has burnt hism out. If ine could rein in his game and be more disciplined and remain as the anchor then I still see him as a squad player next season.

I love his attitude and he hasnt been as decent this season and I am sure he would admit that himself but it doesnt take away from the fact he ia a great professional who always put a shift in.

So it doesn't matter if you say something stupid as long as someone else says something stupider?? I like it!! :)

I'd say its more like watching someone eat spaghetti. When he eventually finds it, he spins it round and around his fork, then misses his mouth and pokes himself in the eye.

"Walker was man of the match for ten minutes"
