£2mm for Chimbs ? What the hell is that about ? Surely we should get our money back and if we can persuade King Kev to bid then we should get £10mm

Pascal Chimbonda looks set to leave Tottenham this summer in search of regular first-team football.
The Frenchman's agent has confirmed Spurs are willing to let the talented full-back leave White Hart Lane and that he is talking to several clubs about a deal for Chimbonda.
Chimbonda's future at Tottenham has been the subject of speculation since the January signings of Alan Hutton and Chris Gunter.
Hutton has jumped ahead of Chimbonda in the pecking order in Juande Ramos' plans and the former Wigan ace is now ready to move on.
Chimbonda's agent Willie McKay has confirmed Tottenham have given him permission to talk to interested clubs.
"I expect Pascal to leave Tottenham this summer," McKay told skysports.com. "I am speaking to several clubs with the consent of Tottenham and Pascal hopes to get his future sorted soon.
"I believe Tottenham will be looking in the region of £2million from interested clubs."
Chimbonda has come in for criticism from sections of the fans and media for his attitude following his angry reaction to being substituted during Spurs' 2-1 extra-time win over Chelsea in the Carling Cup final last season.
However, McKay insists the player's commitment cannot be questioned, having played in several positions for Spurs last season and always given his best for the team.
"Pascal has done nothing wrong at Tottenham, he has been a good signing," added McKay.
"His reaction during the Carling Cup final was a result of the player being upset at being subbed for the first time in his career at Tottenham.
"Unless you have scored a hat-trick and are coming off to a standing ovation, you don't want to be substituted in a cup final.
"Pascal always gave his best for the team whether he was asked to play at right-back, centre-back or left-back.
"Also contrary to some suggestions Pascal is one of the fittest players at Tottenham as he looks after himself.
"Pascal has shown he can do a good job in the Premier League and he is hoping to move to a top club and play in his preferred position of right-back."

Great, it should give Chris Gunter a bit more game time.

Any players we sell this summer need to be touted to the geordies, start a nice auction with their opening bid usually being about 10million for......well, anyone.

That's just another b*ollocks agent trying to suggest a low price to bid up the wages

He's 29 now but still is a top (but not world-class) right back. I'd say £3.5-£4m is a fair price

Would be very surprised if we were willing to accept £2million.

If we really are looking to offload, he is only worth what the buyer will pay.

We can't go around via his agent, saying 4-5 million when the market won't pay it, knowing our stance with the player.

If we can 3 million for him I would be happy, he served his purpose, did a good job for us while he was here but now we have someone better so have fun with Newcastle or Pompey or wherever we punt you off to. Good luck and hope you put in some crappy performances against us in the years to come.

Bump

Tottenham defender Pascal Chimbonda could join up with former boss Martin Jol at Hamburg if the German club meet Spurs' £4m valuation of the player. (News of the World)

Would be a good deal, don't think he has a future here unfortunately.

I think if his attitude is right he would be an excellent squad player

I'd guess its probably meant to be 8m Euros but that would still be good business. It also explains the talk with Valencia which has had us linked to David Villa. Although we probably did try our luck while talks were going on. I'm glad we'll be selling him abroad though as i think he could have improved one of the teams around us.

would be a great bit of buisness but £8m sounds completely unrealistic

if we got 3-4m euros for him that would be some good business. hes at best a sub for us now and at worst hes a squad player with gunter being the sub ahead of him. really hope he leaves this summer we dont need him and hes a moody stroppy git
