This is from Fulhamweb via newsnow so not sure of the providence or when he's supposed to have said the following...

Chimbonda has been a regular in Jol’s starting line-up this season, making 49 appearances in all competitions, and he has revealed his desire to stay with Spurs.
He said: "I’m very happy at Tottenham and really enjoyed my first season with the club. I hope that continues next year. I’m totally focused on Tottenham and have three years left on my contract.

Provenance, Sloth, provenance.

Unless we can screw someting totally insane out of Chelsea, and I mean, totally insane, £20m or so, this isn't happening, and that's assuming there's the slightest iota of truth in the rumour anyway.

So I guess we'll just have to inure ourselves to another season of Carl as Sir Bufton Tufton (AKA 'Outraged of Tunbridge Wells').

i'd definitely like to see him stay at the club. he is totally committed and we need to gel this defence together. doesn't make sense just chopping and changing.

so a player that is setablished is better than a player we think will do the job with a profit of 5m. Give me the one who is certain to do his job instead of gambling (keep Chimbo).

who would we get instead?

finnan... good but no garaurantee he is leaving.
er have gone blank cant think of another right back option.

Come on. Can you take Boulahrouz seriously after Keano dumped him on his arse?

His season has been comical at best.

please don’t say that his crosses are good but our strikers don’t get on the end of them. If his crossing was good then they would find our men not our men find the ball.

When it comes to crossing we don't have strikers who are going to attack the ball when it's crossed in and this causes Leapy and Lennon to get a hell of a lot of flack because their crossing is "shit".

:bang:

Carl, crossing is not about putting a 50/50 ball in the box and hoping our player out muscles the defender and scores a goal, as in these instances it's too easy for a defender to make it difficult for the attacker and most of these chances will be missed (very difficult to head on target under preasure). Crossing is about putting in a ball that no one other than our man can get. Think Beckham, his crosses cut out the defence and find there man at just the right pace and position to have a clear goal scoring oppertunity. Thats what crossing is about. Finding your man, NOT the man finding the ball. And the same goes for Lennon to a slightly lesser extent.

You can explain Lee's higher assist rate at PSV by the fact that he was mostly playing against far inferior players to that which he comes up against in the Prem.

Simple to work out really!

Oh and I forgot to mention, in the Actim Index Top 100 Players in last seasons Premiership Chimbonda is our second highest ranked player at 35. Lee is not on the list.

Pascal has made 3 assists and 35 crosses this season.
Lee has made 0 assists from 30 crosses.

Have you got any stats on Lee's assist rate in the Eridivisie Carl?

As for Boulahrouz, can't say I know a lot about him other than he was highly thought of before this season. Could be it was a blip, but i can't judge. I think if we signed him I'd be inclined to trust the judgement of Jol and co.

No stats but I was lucky enough to see around 65% of the matches he played for PSV, domestically and in europe. Since 2002 I have seen a fair few Korean international matches too.

If Chimbonda leaves, I'm rather sure that we'll sign Bakari Sagna from Auxerre. Most likely around £4M. Four years younger than Chimbonda (who is 28, not 29) and picked for the french national team ahead of Chimbo.

If Chimbonda leaves -I have to admit 10M is looking more and more tasty by the day. We should put Lee Right back and Stalteri as cover.

buying bale, kaboul, bent and others means diddly squat if we're gonna go out and sell the best rb we've had in a very very very long time and that includes steve carr who was never that great.

Chimbo was fantastic all season and covered well at CB. Would be a huge mistake to sell him.

we shouldnt sell at all to be honest, bt for 15mill you have to accept really and try and identify another quality RB who can make an immediate impact for us.

Really hope he doesnt go

We really do have to say NO to the top 4 clubs if they express an interest in any of our players next season. Otherwise we'll be continually backtracking on positions ala carrick this season just gone. 1 left midfielder needed and we're nearly there, top4 beckons!

Guys, this is what we do.......

1. Accept the £10m.

2. Insist that we deliver Chimbo in a crate.

3. Put Stalteri in instead.

4. When they open it up, they'll never work out they've got the wrong bloke, because we'll cunningly put a label with "Pascal Chimbonda" in big crayon letters around his neck.

Job done (and Chelsea).
