In today's ultra-professional and highly disciplined era, the starting point for all coaches should be the presumption: these people want to get better, how can I help them?

I think we do have a really passionate player in fact is say a few, the player who reminds me of vdv is soldado , he tries so hard and goes mental when he scores, he has had a rough start to his tottenham career but his effort is second to none, also I'd say Townsend has real passion, he is a spurs boy through and through and when sold ado got his goal against Cardiff he high fived a fan, and finally Dawson but his problem is he lacks quality on the ball and depends to much time on his ass, do I disagree not all our players lack passion, just a couple I'm afraid

Actually at the moment we're still punching above our weight. Man U is indeed falling behind, and that's their own problem to deal with.

My son who is 8 and a mad spurs fan ( my fault sorry mate ) is a great footballer at only 8 tells me he would sweat blood to wear that shirt and yesterday his football team showed so much character so much passion and maturity to win a local derby 3-1 ands son covered every blade of grass on the pitch to win those jumped up overpaid wankers need to watch a 8 year old and see what real passion for football is and not just take the money at the end of the week. That's to you Lennon u waste of a pro footballer and vertonghen you don't deserve to wear the short at the min let alone moan about champions league football you wouldn't even be able to mark my son. Sorry ppl rant over bit I love this club and it fucking kills me seeing this shit

I can accept one or two bad performances due to hidings off a team like city but the sheer lack of passion and don't give a fuck attitude stinks from the top to the bottom of the club and as for dim he is a gooner wanker who wants to distance himself from blame and the shit lineups he keeps picking eg bentaleb Lennon Dawson ( love his effort but he is shit ) and dim thinks I know sit in the stands and then I can't be in the firing line

As I said already, they weren't the right players. This isn't even hindsight, as I was saying it in July and August. The vast majority of my black and red rep marks are from those statements this summer. But just because you spend doesn't mean it will work out. It was remarkably stupid to drop 30 million on a young player in a weaker league to play on a side that was already well covered and thereby leave not a single recognized winger on the other. Unbelievably stupid. All the money in the world can't buy success if it's distributed poorly.

I know you want more, we all do. We should expect more from the players that we currently have. Some of their performances have been outright abysmal. But there are causes for all of it, and it looks to me like some of those errors are being remedied. Be mad, as you should, but also patient. Is all I'm saying my friend.

I want passion and effort and commitment as Im paying upwards of £40 a ticket every game. Is that really too much to ask for when we sing these players names and our club pay them vast sums of money.
Have you seen our results against all the top sides??? Totally and utterly disgraceful.
Look at Everton, they show a great example of how to do it with a lack of resources.

So is this an excuse for the players to not give 100%
