No likey chicken badge, it seems.

Surely we find out if the player fancies it before coming.....oh no Kounde says hi!

Why are we the only club who goes for players without knowing their preference. Most clubs agree personal terms before even making an attempt to sign them

Can't say I'm too surprised, he plays for his boyhood club who are in the champions league this year. Not sure why he'd move to another country to play in the ECL unless we massively upped his wages.

I'd quite like Torres. Any aerial deficiencies people are worried about might not be such a problem alongside Romero and also because the days of coming up against Big, Burly striker partnerships are largely gone in the prem. Obviously you have the battles against Burnley, perhaps a few others (in a single striker formations) but i think he'd do fine. And his comfortableness on the ball is really quite impressive.

Also, Paritaci is supposedly great at building relationships with players we're after and making them feel warm and fuzzy. Well, time to deliver if that's the case but, also, surprised we'd bid if we didn't know he was keen. Kounde at least told us was keen if no other bugger wanted him! haha

I haven't heard him before we are linked with him TBH. And he wants to join CL teams - surely a lofty thought. Someone needs to tell him and Kounde we were CL finalist just 3 seasons ago, and consistently being in the tournament for 4-5 years consecutively before that. FFS.

out of interest, why can't we find out whether they want to come before we even enter negotiations. Its tedious getting publicly rejected when it is so avoidable. To be honest, I'm not upset we aren't signing him, even though he is a good fit on paper. I think he'd struggle in the prem. He's a slow turner and I doubt his defensive instincts.

Isn't offer the last thing you do? You tap up representatives to see if they're interested then start talking to clubs etc. Amazed we've been turned down by 2 CBs after seemingly agreeing a fee

Pedro is quite reliable and close to Romano. He was on Romano's Twitch stream not too long ago

Yeah, all good but he's based in Portugal. Will wait for someone else more reliable or a local journalist to report this before throwing my toys out the pram. Remember same happened with Romero, so will wait.

I really don’t buy this whole, lack of Champions League putting them off. Most often it is something used by journalists to sell a story.

Also, if it was really true, it gives the player a bad image, who is this player running around thinking, that he can’t bring us into the Champions League. That is lack of belief in oneself, nobody wants that tag.

If a player is sold a project, that should put him in the Champions League anyway, he should believe he can give the final push, why bother about one season away from it.

For those worried that Torres isn't a 'good defender'. Here's a wee write up to hopefully put you at ease. He's not a destroyer, but he is a brilliant modern defender:

Torres is not a defender who makes the tackle, he is a covering CB, filling in the space behind a more aggressive defender who pushes up to engage attackers and then taking control of possession. If we had a Romero and Torres defensive partnership, we'd have one of the most aggressive and disruptive CBs in world football next to the best ball playing cover CB available on the market covering him in behind and making sure we weren't over exposed.

A Wine / Beer with no Alcohol .... pass lol ? ?

Also surely we can practically double his wages no?

At the end of the day, Kounde may be able to wait for a CL team to come in for him (Chelsea) but there won't be another one coming in for Torres this summer.

Paratici wouldn't waste time making bids for players that don't want us, it's amateur hour.
