Yup. And would fit Conte's demand of getting as many-layers in before the South Korea trip.

Could still be a negotiating ploy, but I could easily see Paratici having a deadline with Bastoni and moving on if its not going according to plan.
I don't think this is a coincidence what-so-ever with the Lukaku news coming out.

He’d be coming in as a starter most likely no?
From The little I've seen of him, I'm not convinced he's better than Davies. Bastoni and Gvardiol, however, could be an improvement.

I'm a Davies fan. If he's our number one choice next season at LCB I have no problem with that.

WLB in the ITK thread is saying Paratici has leaked some info to try and force Inter's hand, so could be where this noise is coming from.

I don't think it is though, if I were Inter then selling Martinez and brining in two big name attackers seems the more obvious move.

I think that's a very optimistic way to look at these things.

Di Marzio and Romano are professionals they're not going to just trot out bullshit for Paratici.

Telling the media about a potential contingency plan doesn't count as BS.

Occams razor suggests that Bastoni might be off the table though.

Meh.

Don’t really rate him, but I didn’t rate Kulusevski either.

This probably means he’ll be the best CB in Europe next season ?

The fact of the matter is though, and we've heard this from multiple people, Paratici likes to line up multiple deals and creates contingency plans if we cannot get our first choice. We probably have been in contact with Torres and Villareal so it could just be a case of Paratici suggesting that the deal for Torres could be the one that he goes for, when he is actually still set on Bastoni

Haven’t we been told a million times that Paratici negotiates multiple deals for the same position and then pulls the trigger.

Expect that we are doing just that now with Bastoni, Torres, possibly Lenglet, and more. Can’t see a world in which we buy both Bastoni and Torres for £100m.

It’s clear that Inter need one big sale which will probably be a defender considering Bremer looks nailed on to sign. He’ll be the upgrade on De Vrij and allow for a downgrade on either Bastoni or Skriniar, plus a profit they supposedly are in desperate need of.

I'll say, he seems like a perfect fit for a back 3 where his more offensive abilities can be more highlighted.

Also, he was incredible in the Europa league Championship vs ManU last season I thought at least.

Going by the reports, it would be a player plus cash for Torres. Max fee would likely be £25-30mil. Bastoni likely to be £50million as well. Sell Sanchez and Rodon, you've generated about a third of that overall fee.

If Lo Celso goes the other way and covers a good chunk of the transfer fee then I think this is a good bit of business.

Not only do we need more depth but we also need competition to push the starting 11.

The only thing is most people prefer Bastoni to Torres if we can only sign one of them.

I still think he is the second CB option, brought in to cover CCB and LCB. I would see him coming in as well as Bastoni, not instead. Torres is quick and can cover the spaces left by Romero and (hopefully) Bastoni well. He organises the defence at Villareal, again another required trait of the CCB in our system. He is fairly passive as a defender, which complements the more aggressive LCB and RCBs in our system and finally he can pick a nice pass to our CMs or WBs. I think he would challenge Dier but probably be backup. At least initially. Good age profile as well being 3 years younger then Dier. Some development areas like 1v1s and could be more physical and clean in the air.

I simply see this as a way to get a decent fee for Lo Celso and a decent CB in return. I would hope no more then Lo Celso+£20m. If we can get £20m or so for Rodon and Tanganga then we have upgraded our CCB and LCB depth with no outlay (given Lo Celso, Rodon and Tanganga aren’t used today).

I might be wrong of course and he is actually the backup to Bastoni which I agree would be dissapointing.

We seem pretty nailed on to sell them Lo Celso for £20-25m regardless of if or where they sell Torres to. I get what you’re saying but any way we do it it would still surprise me if we had 2 big buys come in at CB. I have no idea how highly Conte rates Dier/Davies though so who knows.

Ok sell Sanchez and who covers Romero if injured.

Always made a ton of sense and now going into motion as Bastoni probably off the table now.
Sorry but where has this come from? The only information we've had on bastoni today has been incrementally positive and that means it's off now?

I know it's not guaranteed to happen but for me today's news overall has suggested it's closer than I thought previously, not further away.

One of the replacements or Dier could shift over to the right and we play Torres/Bastoni centrally with Davies back into the team?
