He's on 6 from 18 this year and got 5 in 10 from last season (at Rennes). He has Griezmann, Payet & Valbuena ahead of him. Also Laczette has played there in his limited sub appearances.

I was say the bigger question is why has Lacazette only had 1 start and 2 sub apps this season when he has 17 goals and 7 assists in 19 games.

That is an astonishing jump in form. I mean really astonishing. Has anything dramatically altered for him?
Edit: And he is not even starting games?:eek:

@Snarfalicious

No chance we haven't at least looked at him with a) his contact running down, b) the fact he hired a new agent to specifically get him a move to a bigger club this winter (wants out), and c) the fact he's familiar with Bielsa tactics. Not a chance Mitchell hasn't black box'd him. Would love to see us take this option.

The report says that we're looking to get him for free in the summer, so we won't necessarily try this month. However, as he's a foreign player, we can sign him on a pre-contract.

Does it say we're looking to get him in the summer verbatim, or just that he's a free agent in the summer?

Would still take that option, and I've no doubt Levy would love it. Would give us more time to move on other options to free up the wage bill, and also give Poch more freedom with other players he may prioritize.

However, we are thin in the AM3 positions as is, even before a sale/exclusion of Lennon. I would even argue we need AM backup more than we do striker backup, as I think beyond Chadli and Eriksen we would indeed be proper fucked for consistency, even more so than without Kane. They also can't keep playing in every game we need a win with this many competitions on the plate.

The lines I've bolded are the most relevant in terms of a Jan signing. If the info is true, this is very interesting. There's so many French sport websites though so I can't remember if they're reliable or not. IIRC, they did say something about Rabiot in the window.

TOTTENHAM IS THE NUMBER ONE CHOICE OF ANDRÉ AYEW

According to our information, a club emerges today in the spirit of the Ghanaian environment: it is Tottenham . The formation of Hugo Lloris has initiated a few weeks a concrete discussion with the clan André Ayew . Meetings have already been held for this purpose. Today, the Spurs have clear priority of the player because so sportingly and financially, they have the best offer. If Andre Ayew , meanwhile, would not be opposed to a start this winter if allowed Olympique Marseille to cash a small transfer. Tottenham however, does not intend to pay compensation transfer and therefore works with the aim of blocking the signing of Andre Ayew free in June. In this context, the contact is already well advanced. The track is hot, even no common ground has been found.

So not surprised to see this. It's just too overwhelmingly strong of a connection between our needs, his contract situation, and his familiarity with Bielsa tactics. Just way, way too good to overlook. Really hoping this is genuine. If we do have legitimate interest in Lennon and a strong possibility of moving on another non-HG, I think this move would be brilliant.

Thanks for the link, 19.

How is he compared to, for example, Konoplyanka? Is he quick? Can he score and create? His stats are not that impressive but if he's been playing under Bielsa, I assume he's good at intensive pressing...?

Would you mind replying in the Ayew thread I created, mate...?
