Surely we’d have sounded out the player about wages and commissions first..

Herc says wages aren’t an issue.

Let’s wait and see.

So from this information we are assuming we are looking at potentially three in ? Including yours Ryan - could this be possible ?

Hey first time posting... I think that this transfer had no downside. We either got Dybala for a steal or forced Betis/Sporting to eventually cave. I'm still holding out that we get Dybala but if not I know there is a certain sexy spaniard available on a free... Please god tell me we don't get Llorente again :nailbiting:

"Hey Juve/Barca if you leak that you've received a bid for Dybala/Coutinho from us to help us pressure Betis you can speak to Eriksen for 50"

Just make him our top earner alongside Kane. He's 25 and has won 9 trophies, including Serie A 4 times. Get it over the line.

One bit of healthy news came from the Tier 1 barca catradio people saying we put that deal on hold because we're focusing on Dybala so fingers crossed.

That "Still no agreement" line from Fabrizio and the fact they are still meeting suggest it's still ongoing. Good enough to hold on at this stage.
Exactly. Not saying we'll get the deal done but he's not outright rejected us yet which has to been seen as a good sign.

In football, Image rights are effectively a tax avoidance vehicle, and are used to allow a proportion of a player's earnings to be taxed at a lower rate. However, after years of abuse within the PL, HMRC has clamped down on their use un the UK and now restricts the value of a players's Image Rights to a maximum of 20% of his total earnings. I guess that the big question is whether Dybala can expect our HMRC to be as generous as the Italian authorities...

I may not understand the rules correctly, but I believe that what is explained above is a big reason why the FA / PL do now allow clubs to have players with separately owned image rights, and thus why we'd also have to purchase these from the company that currntly own them (not Juventus). Reports indicate the image rights are owned by Dybala's former agent, which I imagine complicates things somewhat as there may be some emotions involved that are not necessarily conducive to a simple and fair deal.

Pay him more than Kane, who is better?

Pay him the same as Kane (£200k plus bonuses), but if this is still not enough then offer him a signing on bonus that is spread over the duration of the contract. That way Levy can say Dybala is within our wage structure and there is parity with Kane.

I like the way you think.

Your 1st name is not Daniel and surname starting in L and ending in Y.

Let’s be honest, if Man Utd couldn’t reach an agreement with him and his various agents and business associates then it’s hardly surprising if we can’t.

I know we’re clinging to the idea that he simply rejected Utd out of hand, but I think that’s a little bit of wishful thinking on our part. Utd are still a massive football club despite slipping from where they used to be.

Would love it to happen as he has a genuine touch of class and flair about him, but I simply can’t see it.

Expect to hear the immortal words “it’s complicated” at some point from our ITK’s in the next 24 hours.
