Let’s be honest, if Man Utd couldn’t reach an agreement with him and his various agents and business associates then it’s hardly surprising if we can’t.

I know we’re clinging to the idea that he simply rejected Utd out of hand, but I think that’s a little bit of wishful thinking on our part. Utd are still a massive football club despite slipping from where they used to be.

Would love it to happen as he has a genuine touch of class and flair about him, but I simply can’t see it.

He is as big of a name in terms of World football, and having a proven winner (something we deeply lack) is what we need to turn these nearly-days into winning-days. I absolute agree! I have said so many times (in sweden) we need to buy players that have won something because they know what it takes to win

As for the argument about winning major trophies... put me in the Juve side for the past half decade an I’ll win 9 major trophies too. I don’t say this to denigrate either Dybala or Serie A, bit it really has become a one horse race, just at a high overall level than SPL or Ligue 1.

In fairness, I’m square as fuck.

I’d still argue that instagrams demographic is unlikely to be a huge percentage of the worldwide football fanbase, I.e. adults with jobs and money to pay for tv subscriptions and season tickets.
