Way too early to tell. We shouldn't forget the flying start Villa made last season, which lasted for quite some time, nor how poorly Everton started last season. Everton no doubt will manage to hit form and sustain it for the rest of the season; Villa I think have fallen behind unless they get in some signings. I do think Citeh and us are the best-placed to challenge, but we could be in for a few surprises yet.

I know it's very early days but the key difference i feel between us and teams who have challenged the top 4 in the past like Villa and Everton is squad size. King and Woody out we play Dawson and Sea Bass. Lennon out we play Bentley, Keano out we play Pav or Crouch. We definately have a better bench than most of the EPL. Beat Brum next week and thats 12 points from first four games, then it gets tough next month with Utd and Chelski.

Everton got 8 points from the first 5 games. Hardly a poor start.

I hate City fans. They are judging us like they won the treble last season! One guy said "they are almost as strong as us in defence." Behave son.

well the media hype train is already at full speed, i await us failing to make top 4 or not winning something at the last hurdle and then everyone will say redknapp isnt good enough or taken the club as far as he can bullshit and then we will sack him

I agree with that. And I don't think it's being biased, it's being realistic. We have a better squad because we're far wealthier than they are. And although I expect them to do well again this season, perhaps a top 6 place, I don't think they'll be ahead of us come the final reckoning.

Absolute gem. The arrogance of thinking that money is all it takes.

Excuse me shitty fans, but have Chelski won the European Cup yet?

Probably should've said very inconsistent start, which is unusual for them - iirc they had several losses (including a 0-3 to harry's pompey) and were midtable for a while, 12th after 9 games though it's not a big deal at that stage. Later on in the season they went on a run almost as good as ours, gaining about one point less than us since February.

Let's face it though, if we had got taken over by the Abu Dhabi lot our fans would be just as bad, probably worse....

It's important for us to beat Brum at home next week now, we have two tough games after that we are favourites to lose.

A win against Brum will offset potential loses in the following two games ensuring that we will still be in a great postion after them. Lose to Brum and we could be looking at 3 wins 3 loses, all of a sudden Spurscommunity would be filled with Sack Redknapp and or lynch Levy threads.

The thing is, City and Spurs could cause huge disruptions to the top four. If we both take points off the Sky 4 (we've already done it) then we'll both have a chance to grab CL football!

I like the way they assume that the position to smash into the top 4 is there's to lose, why so, co's there throwing money around like footie manager. They still have to have the right manager to keep them motivated, Chelsea did this but in Mourinho they had a superb manager, can you say the same for Hughes? Does Hughes have the experienec that Redknapp has?

Money helps obviousley, but if you don't have the right man in charge you might not win anything.
