I just love the fact that crouchs shit touch has given VdV 4 (5?) goals this season already. I wish I had as shit a touch as him! Have Bale, Modric, Lennon, Hudd got anymore assists that that this season?

I wonder if anyone has ever tolod him to, or indeed whether he has ever tried off his own back, to get in the gym and bulk up a bit. Perhaps he has and his body just doesn't respond to it, but if he were more muscular he would be a lot tougher for defenders to play against, would have more powerful shooting, might at least look to have more control over his body and would look less like bambi on ice.

Agree, I'm a member of the organization most strength coaches
for PL teams do their affiliation and training with and it baffles
me how none of our coaches have done anything.
I'd be slipping steroids in his smarties if I was Harry.

Peter Crouch is..................

A Tottenham player. Here's a novel idea, let's support him during a poor spell of form and as fans try to encourage him back to form.

He didn't have a great game, but neither did half the team.

So we need a striker with more strength.

We've got a couple of Brazilians at the club, so another one would feel at home.

I. Have. The. Perfect. Solution!

HULK!!!

Come on Daniel, make them an offer!

Why have a mere man poisoned with radiation which in turn genetically turn gave him super strength when we can have 500 tonnes of cast iron and steel?

oh......

you mean the player......

Well said..........

Mind you if we're all for this target man, I'd love Andy Carroll, he can head hold the ball up, link play, and generally get stuck in. He's young too.

Are we on wednesday nights game still?

Not at all - you're telling me you think that apart from Crouch everyone else had a great game today?

I don't. Kaboul, Modric and Benny played well, the rest whilst not on the same level as Crouchy today, were not at their peak. Did okay, nothing special.

Crouchie's struggling for form, yet he's still providing assists for VDV. Fair play to him. It's not his fault we've got no-one to come in and give him a much needed break from the firing line.

I can't think of another spurs player that played as badly as crouch today or even near to it.

I'm not saying they did, I'm saying he was not the only one not firing on all cylinders. There are degrees of poorness and for what it's worth I do agree he had a poor game today.

But then by their own exceptionally high standards, Bale and VDV were not on fire today. Still okay, but not at their best. Had they been I suspect we'd have won, had Crouchy been I'm not sure we would have been as he's not the world class player they are. He's good, but not world class.

Didn't he score a hatrick a few weeks ago to fire us into the champions league?

Or was that somebody else

Its all been said and ignored. Hatrick = inferiror opposition, Man City Goal = Fluke, he tried to miss it\head it to the keeper.

The inferior opposition that was 3-0 against us within 30minutes? I really hate our fans sometimes.

Crouchie would be the first to admit he isnt the greatest player. But he is one of the most honest players we have. His hold up play has been great in recent weeks even if his shooting boots have been elsewhere.

Another day he would have had 2 or 3 today.

Lot of people on here upset at Crouchie today and IMHO justifiable as although he put in a decent shift he screwed up, particularly with the header, a couple of golden chances that he should have put away if we're going to beat teams like Everton.
I'm not the type of person who comes on here to bash players as I see no sense in that but it's become so obvious that we desperately need a strong, centre forward type that can hold up play, head the damm ball correctly and score goals from inside and outside the box. Perhaps our level of expectation has risen so much but I'm not at all impressed with Pav., Crouchie or Robbie of late and even J.D. can have his off days too.
However I was impressed today watching Andy Carroll, as I have been in other games when I've seen Newcastle play, and believe he could be just the sort of player that we're missing as from what I've seen he posseses all the key elements we're missing, plus the fact he's still very young, 21 I believe.
Be interesting to see how 'Arry reacts in the January transfer window as I'm sure he knows how many points we're dropping due to not having one really good striker leading the line.

He didn't have a great game, but neither did half the team.

The fact that this thread is as long as it is shows that this is not just a player having a bad game or a dip in form. Opinions of this player have been formed based on the length of time that he has been with us. There have been doubts about his play from the start and he has not dispelled those concerns.

Today's debate is rightly about Crouch because as the man on whom we rely in part to score goals he was not up to the task once again. That is still zero league goals this season.

For all you moralisers to come on here once again and dismiss the decension as an act of betrayal to THFC is pathetic. And yes sometimes we can see stuff that the manager can't. Ask any supporter at any club and they will at one time or another disagree with one or more of the managers decisions. Managers can make errors of judgement FFS.

Crouch has been poor for a while. He will have the odd good game but that is it. As for him holding the ball up and linking up play please dont make me laugh. He loses the ball more often than not. It is a myth and i challenge anyone on these boards to REALLY look at the quality of his play and count the amount of times in a game when we lose posession as a direct result of his play and while you are at it see how many times he ends up on the floor.

How many of you can even say that Pav is not even as good as him borders on laughable to be honest but that is another argument altogether.

He had a good game against City away last season. His best in a spurs shirt in my opinion. But if he wasn't there would we miss him? I doubt it. We would find the route to goal another way and probably a better way.

Problem with Carroll is as soon as he joins us he would be the next Crouch. People would say that before today he hadnt scored since August, was up in court recently and hasnt any top experience above 7 or so games in the Premiership.

Its not unique to Spurs fans, but football fans in general prefer the devil they dont know to the one they do.

Carroll has progressed massively and could become a great striker, if he has his head screwed on and continues to improve. Crouch can have great games, but because we see him more often we see his failings more than other strikers on MotD or youtube highlights

But for a man who is 6'7 he can be incredibly frustrating with his aerial ability.
