Randomly heard a bit of info from someone well connected with the Manchester clubs this week.

In short, Phil Jones' knee is fecked and he has been advised to stop playing football. He wants to keep going as he is desperate to get into the England team and go to the World Cup. Will likely have to retire after that.

I had no idea he even had a problem!

Anyway, just thought I'd share.

Oh and also apparently City are building exact replicas at their training ground (dimensions, grass types etc) of the pitches at OT, Stanford Bridge, Emirates and WHL!!

For four games a season that is bloody ridiculous!!

Did he mention how or when it happened?

Regarding Man City, I think our training ground has something smilar but the club never publicly mentioned which clubs they replicated.

No, didn't mention that I'm afraid.

I feel like I should be discussing ITK in here.
That's horrible news if correct.

I bet we do the same thing, well not actually building them but re-marking pitches depending on the opponents pitch dimensions

I thought PL pitch sizes were standardised from last season?

They were, apart from a few that can't fit the standard size. WHL and Craven cottage are two that I can remember that fall into that.

Only so they can practice not getting too depressed every time they walk off the WHL one.

That would be a huge shame. Like Caulker, I think he'd have a massive future if over eager English fans would get off their back and let em develop.

We already have.

All the major prem pitches are made up of a combination of grass and artificial weaves. Our new training facilities have multiple pitches that replicate the size and weaves of the grounds at United, Arsenal, Chelsea, City, Liverpool, and I think about 3/4 others.
