I think his problem is that he doesn't always assert himself on a game. Think Barca thought he'd take the mantle from Iniesta and control games and he just doesn't have it in him. Capable of sublime goals and assists but he's on the periphery too often - Barca want someone to control things.

Would there not be an issue with his wage?
Even if it was subsidised by Barca during the loan period, can’t see him taking less to sign on.

This would have been my wild card from the start of the window. I'd say our only chance comes from Barca wanting Eriksen and Coutinho being seduced by Pochettino, but you never know. I know he isnt the most popular, but I'd probably slightly prefer him to Dybala, as long as it was a permanent deal or a loan with a view to a permanent deal, just based on how he'd fit into our needs I feel, not that i'd be against Dybala either, there's not much in it. As always though, this is as long as Lo Celso was coming in too, not sure Fernandes would be the one if Coutinho was coming in, which makes me think he most likely isnt our focus. So its unlikely overall, and I can see Arsenal getting him on a loan and them going bananas, but we will see.
