25 goals, 14 assists in 105 games.
not bad for a player in and out the side
In comparison, whilst at Liverpool he achieved 54 goals and 45 assists in 200 games, during which he was one of the best players In the league.

so he scored the same amount of goals by ratio, although less assists.

As I say, his stats at Barca are good considering he was in and out of side, and a number of the 100 appearance will have been from the bench.

I can’t actually recall a transfer to Madrid or Barca that has been considered successful in the media or general opinion?

Huh? Over what time frame?

Recent times, last 5 years or so.

Bale for example is unfairly judged by Madrid fans and media as a bad signing despite being integral to their CL wins.

Recent Barca big signings Coutinho, dembele, griezmann, Vidal, and countless others haven’t been considered successful.

Suarez is the immediate successful signing I can think of, not sure there are too many others?

Have you actually watched any of those games though, or are you just looking at stats on paper?

Why do you think he’s been in and out (but mostly out) of the side, and not wanted even in the middle of the worst injury crisis imaginable?

Which of these do you feel have been successful?

Old Phil doesn’t seem to be doing too badly

He had a great game yesterday & clearly showed he's got quality.

But your post, posted today, 6th of March, is the first post since January 8th. Almost 2 months without anyone (trying to) point out that we dropped a bollock by not signing him.

He's good, his talent is easy to see. But where have the posts, and the MOTD camera's been for 2 months? Much like Coutinho, they've been missing.

He's got 3 goals, 3 assists and 2 man of the match performances from 6 starts and a sub appearance, along with a WhoScored average rating of 7.34, making him Villa's highest rated player since he joined.

I think the lack of people saying we dropped a bollock is more down to Kulusevski hitting the ground running and our own issues laying elsewhere, rather than Coutinho's overall performances not being of a sufficient quality. If Kulu was a dud, this thread may have been more active.

If Gerrard didn't take over at Villa, I think we could've looked at a loan deal for Coutinho. Though I really don't know if Coutinho Is a Conte player, so maybe a moot point.
