I've just checked out Newcastles fixtures, their next three games are away to Man City, followed by away to Man Utd, and then home to Chelsea. Teams above us are going to drop points, if we can continue winning we can only get closer to the top

That 1st Bolton goal is ridiculous. It may be legitimate but those sort of goals always leave a sour taste for me. Poor sportsmanship and weak refereeing at best.

I didn't see anything wrong with it. It was a backpass, and they took the free-kick quickly, good thinking.

Not really sure how I can make my position any clearer than I already had . I know its a legitimate goal, but 'quick' free kicks in that situation are effectively penalising a team for a back-pass by awarding the opposition a goal.

I just feel that that the punishment doesn't fit the crime i guess.

I don't think it was a back pass it looked shanked to me but once the ref gave t they should have played to the whistle.

It's been drilled in to me over the years that if you give a freekick away at anytime, don't give the opposition the ball straight away! Don't give them the option of taking a quick freekick, especially if you're a goal keeper in that situation!

At free kicks you can chose to take it quick or to wait for the whistle when the ref pits the wall back if requested, that's why they hold up and point to the whistle. Was it a backpass? I don't know but the goal is fine to me.
