PLAYER UPDATE

We are delighted to announce that young professionals Cian Hughton and Leigh Mills have signed new contracts.
Radek Cerny has reached the end of his loan period at the Club. He was a popular member of the squad and we thank him for his contribution to the season and wish him all the best for his future career.

Jamie Davis and Chris Riley have been released at the end of their contracts. We should also like to wish them all the best for the future

that son is a footballer too?

he plays for my team sometimes in broxbourne!

Leon i think was on the books of spurs way back, he's a fair bit older than Ciaran. According to my mates, he could have made it but enjoyed lifes other 'luxuries' too much.

Leon gave me a good insight when his dad was sacked.

Ah, yeah poor old chrissy.. don't really think all the blame he got was fair and it's been evident that especially his clipboard has been missed!

Care to share anything interesting you got to know?

nothing scandalous, just how disgusted he was at the way he was treated after such a long service to the club, both as player and coach. Chris exit was dignified but he was furious.

Leon never rated Tainio or lennon! always slated them. Said Jol wanted SWP from day one.

Little bit surprised Leigh Mills has been kept on, decent enough lad, but with Dervite's recovery and the emergence of Archibald-Henville he has slipped a long way down the pecking order. I wondered about Hughton too, what with his family connections and not playing in the last two youth tournaments.

Desperately sad news about young Jamie Davis; he was an absolutely outstanding prospect, but he has a desperate couple of years with injury, as has Riley. No news on Radwan Hamed or Matty Wells, neither of whom has kicked a ball in two years. What with Terry Dixon as well, our Academy seems to be under a curse.

I agree. But I seem to remember Chris Hughton was a fairly late developer in terms of first team breakthrough, so maybe his lad, Cian, will be the same.

I assume Leigh Mills has been injured, because I haven't seen his name on teamsheets recently. But we signed him with quite a fanfare - "the next John Terry" - and he does seem to be behind Dervitte & Archibald-Henville.

Both Hughton & Mills seem prime candidates to spend the first half of next season out on loan. Unless they make giant leaps forward in pre-season...

Bearing in mind the contribution he made to our season and the way he stepped in for Robinson when we needed him this season (and the fact he's waited in the wings without complaining when Robbo was playing). I thought Cerny deserved a bit of a better thank you and goodbye than that.

I conclude it's Hughton's lad's opinion which stands jack with me. Probably backs up the guy who said he wouldn't have a future at Spurs opinion and i'm comfortable with that.

Are you referring to Leon or Cian, cos it's obvious from Fordy's post it was Leon who didn't rate Lennon and Tainio.... And he's no longer on our books and Cian was just handed a contract....

Just wasn't sure who you were talking about...
