with the fitness issues of Dembele, Wanyama and now Dier I think you can make the argument that Sissoko has been hugely influential.
The poll is for PLAYER of the season to this point. To me this is a strange thread. First of all the notion of a semi seasonal best player is strange, there is a reason for why these things are awarded on an annual/seasonal basis, there needs to be some sense of consistency over time. Secondly, just because a player goes from useless to less useless to occasionally quite usable doesn't mean that he should run away with an award, or "award", however informal it is.
IMO, the man at Tottenham Hotspur most deserving of praise at the halfway point is Pochettino himself. He has gotten through transfer disappointments, a rough patch with Levy, stadium postponements and landed the club at 2nd place and firmly in the run for CL spot. He is the only outstanding enough to deserve personal, singular praise at this point. For the players, it really and truly has been a team effort.
Sissy. The tanker has turned into a super yacht. Right before our eyes.
I'd argue that he's more human than anthropomorphic seafaring vessel.Hard to argue with that.
