Sorry Omar waited and waited...

Here’s the formula;

If a Spurs A/B = unusual Positive position acquired then Spurs = X

A= Win
B= Draw
X= Bottled it again

Friedel; 6 should have at least tried to save the goal? (sometimes what you don’t do can also cost you)

Rose; 5 Is just nowhere near good enough, in possession everything is rushed, and defensively not great either, an average player.

Walker; 5 played the first 15 minutes thinking he was still a villa player, improved a bit but not much.

Gallas; 6 caught out a fair bit and threw the toys out at the end of the match (made Heskey think it was 2003 and he was still a good player)

Kaboul; 6.5 better than Gallas but not suited to the LCB role, he simply cannot bring the ball out of defence on his left side.

Modric; 6 sporadic at best, little desire.

Sandro; 7.5 Showed heart, spirit and drive that most of his teammates lacked, won pen MOTM

VDV; 6.5 tried to get things going but not much inspiration around him

Bale; 6.5 got into some good positions but very hit and miss.

Lennon; 6 Nothing of note really

Adebayor; 5 (plus 0.5 for the penalty) where to begin... If his brain were as fast as his feet he would be something special, he is essentially a faster Crouch, cannot shoot, cannot pass before touching the ball 8 times, so many occasions where a 1st time (forward) ball would see us with a chance on goal and he holds it and holds it, then lays it backwards and the chance is gone.

Parker (NET) spun around a few times and got caught in possession.

Sandro Man of the match by a mile, would give him a 9 on top, did little to nothing wrong and was one of the first to get us back attacking having lost the ball nearly every time.

I thought Adebayor actually dominated the whole of Villas back 4. He won everything. He ran with a purpose. He created. He was strong and obviously underatted

Second half, I'd say. He improved vastly after he scored. Thought he was fairly anonymous before then

created my arse?

Don't get me wrong as a target man he is good, he can back into cd defenders chest the ball, run into channels.

what he does when he gets the ball is average at best.

never looks for a quick forward pass however easy it is, little intelligence in passing or creating chances for himself.

can you seriously not see that?

the one time he tried a forward pass today was some joke flick of a ball that was already heading towards VDV for a 1-on-1 (pass by Sandro) he took it away from VDV to no one.

Sandro - 8 was easily MOTM for me today.

Rose gets 1 for being sent off.

The rest get 6 for being generally average against very, very poor Villa side.

Friedel; 6 - Anyone who thinks he had even the slightest of chance at the goal haven't played much football.

Rose; 5 Just terrible, moronic tackle. Doesn't offer anything going forward which is a surprise since he always used to be a winger

Walker; 5 So many bad passes I don't even know where to begin

Gallas; 7 Thought he was good for the most part

Kaboul; 6.5 He goes on runs into nowhere way too often.

Modric; 6 Not good enough.

Sandro; 7.5 Awesomeness

VDV; 6.5 Not good enough. Should've done a lot better with the chance he got at the end. Terrible effort.

Bale; 6.5 He needs to stop coming in all the time. He's all over the place. His position is left wing. It's ok for him to step inside once in a while but now he just wants to go into the middle most of the time.

Lennon; 6 Below par.

Adebayor; 6.5 Thought Ade did well for the most part, held on to the ball well and brought others into play as usual.

Parker (NET) Don't know why Harry put him on. We needed a win.

He created space for our players all the time

Rose ain't good enough and was exposed by a very average Villa team. The summer will see the need for a proper back up to BAE

This is utter BS, mate. Take a look at his assists this season, take a look at some of the layoffs he's done this season and come back and tell me he doesn't have a quick brain or never looks for a quick forward pass.

Ade had a decent game today.

Friedel 6 - no chance with goal, did well to creak out to clear his lines, not much else to do

Walker 6 - was always an option going forward tho poor final ball as ever, some timely interceptions tho

Rose 4 - cost us the chance to win, really. had been wasteful before his silly tackle. last thing we needed

Gallas 6 - unfortunate for goal (shouldn't have turned away, arguably?), no probs elsewhere, tho should have scored

Kaboul 6 - solid at the back yet kept running forward too quickly and losing the ball

Sandro 8 - thought he was excellent. some great tackles, good runs, won penalty, had real desire to push on

Modric 6 - poor first half, lots of failed Hollywood passes, looked better 2nd half, tho no penetration

Lennon 6 - didn't have much to aim at in the middle. Had joy getting behind, always committed but not much came off

Bale - 6 - missed arguably our best chance (chose wrong way and Given saved), ran down lots of blind alleys

VDV - 7 - always our most dangerous player, should have done better with one shot but was our biggest threat

Adebayor 6 - waste of space first half, but great penalty and then turned into the hold-up, never-stops-running machine we know he can be. Still never looks like scoring tho

Parker N/A

Disagree, it was in the air for half an hour, he had time to whip out a Beano and do a crossword. I like Brad but think he could've at least moved.

yeah assists don't tell you anything, how many of those assists were anything other than rolled 5-10 yard passes under no pressure? very similar to the Lennon assist to Ade the other day.

you'd be hard pressed to find an assist of his that any of our players could not have played had they been in the same position (credit to him for being in the position, but i put little stock in statistics like that)

I thought we dominated today against a bunch of bus parkers who played like an away team. Their goal came from nowt from pretty much their only shot? Can't remember much else from Villa.

Walker was very poor today I thought broken toe or not. First 25 minutes was pony giving the ball away 4/5 times with simple passes (thank fuck it was Heskey running clear and not Gabby) and 2nd half his crossing and decision making were mostly awful. Rose was rash although he won the ball and showed his inexperience on a couple of other occasions. I thought the rest played pretty well and certainly the desire and effort was there even with 10 men. Lennon was quiet for large spells although always threatened to provide an opening, Sandro especially and Modric were mostly excellent as was VDV although he seemed to tire 2nd half - he also missed our best chance 1st half when he put his volley wide. Bale was a bit hit and miss.

I thought Adebayor was better today than on Wednesday, first touch and hold up play was good and his runs were intelligent and into space. The CB's were fine. The Parker sub? Maybe H was happy with what he had...

A hugely frustrating game given what happened yesterday but I can't fault the players efforts mostly - a flukey goal made it hugely difficult against a team already set up to defend their own box, the sending off made it even harder but the players didn't give up despite their obvious tiredness. It's not over yet and strange things can happen as we saw yesterday - can West Brom help us out? It's possible...

Watching the Villa goal again (on ESPN goals app) and really think Friedel should have done better. The deflection didn't really make the shot deviate that much from it's original trajectory.

I've said it before but I don't think his footwork is anything to shout about. It happens too often.
