Will be interesting to see where we loan him. Not sure he is ready for PL level yet, and the Championship is a brutal introduction to European football. I'm gonna guess a Spanish side.

I think we might keep him around til January and then have a go at getting Ivan Toney.

First season goals against Newells who are local derby, Racing Club and RIver Plater two of the biggest teams in Argentina

View attachment 130028

Second season goals aganst Boca, Racing and River Plate. So clearly can handle the big games He can score Home and Away against the big sides
This is one of the reasons I don’t quite get the calls for loaning him and bringing in Orban to be back up. Veliz although younger has more experience playing at a higher level. Really the only thing you could say in favour of Orban is he’s played 24 games for Gent but that for me doesn’t necessarily equate to the two seasons Veliz has under his belt even if Orban has a better scoring record.

Which is why I’m not completely sold on him needing to go on loan to a ‘lesser’ league somewhere.

Not just that, Argentinian leage may not be what it use to be in terms quality but in terms of intensity and atmosphere its probably number one in the world. The Atmosphere at the stadiums the derbies are arguably the best in the world its also a very physical league, if he can handle that sort of pressure he should be fine over here. Ive watched a few vids with so called experts some have said hes not quite ready, might struggle as hes not great in the build up hes a pure finisher, but mayeb thats what we need right now, We have DK and JM we need somone who is ice cold in front of goal. hes around 1 in 3 at the moment across 2 seasons, playing for a midtable team

Have we ever had a player at this age who is so highly rated in global terms?

I’ve seen a lot of studies of the worlds most promising u20 players and this lad is always featured.

this talk of loaning him out might simply be a reaction of people not appreciating how good he is/could be.

And one issue I’ve often had with our treatment of young players is not having given players a chance early enough and instead sending them on loan where they can often look worse than they really are even though on paper they should coast it at a lower level. (Eg Scarlett)

it’s not like he doesn’t have senior football experience and needs to prove he can handle the physicality of men’s football.

so I think the quicker we have him in the squad and give him 10-20 minute appearances (and increasing as and when he deserves it) the quicker he will develop in the way we want him to. Sending him to Spain on loan (as an example) just means he gets used to Spanish football and not PL football.

Richy should be in everyone's team if Kane goes purely because he's a midfielder on the site.
It's Sarr at the £4.5m bargain point that's catching my eye if he continues to get starts and playing further up the field.

This kid is 2nd in the betting (behind Kane) as first goal scorer today.

How is that possible when we haven't confirmed his signing?? 🤔
