I know sweet FA about this kid, I've looked at his stats and there's nothing particularly impressive about them, and so for that reason I find myself strangely excited by the prospect of us getting him. I know it doesn't make sense, but I sort of figure that if he's that far under the radar and yet we're trying to snap him up, and if Biesla wanted him, and now so does Poch, then the guy has the capacity to be one of those hidden gems who everyone ends up going wtf about, and how come we didn't get him. If he does turn out like that, and also Dier keeps his good form, plus Capoue and Chadli stay good then within a short time no one will be using us as the yard-stick to measure bad buys by, but it will all be about how great our scouting team must be!! Anyway, here's hoping!!!

Perhaps, but you would not neccessarily expect every piece of gossip/ rumour to reach the 2 or 3 people who report it back here.

No I agree...but as you say no press whispers either on Stromboli Stambouli!

I wanted a LB this summer, a back-up GK, and a CB.

We do not 'need' any of those extra positions, we do not 'need' Schneiderlin, we do not 'need' a new starting CB, we do not 'need' more depth at CB.

All those things might be nice, but we don't 'need' any of them. We have an enormous squad, and now find ourselves 'needing' to sell a significant number of players, because we've got too many. We're also clearly not interested in letting young players like Mason, Carroll and Fredricks have a chance to prove themselves - we'd rather buy a bunch of foreign blokes with good sell-on values instead.

We're addicted, as a club, to the buying and selling of players. We're a player trading exchange these days. We're not interested in continuity when it comes to managers and that's bled down to the playing squad as well.

Anyway I don't give a shite about all the negs etc I'm getting for this - history has proven it true, however people try to rationalise each and every transfer.

I have never doubted that levy always has the best of intentions for the club, but this is the wrong way to go about it. Again and again. Our player turnover is through the roof and it does the club no good and gives the fans very little chance to form a connection with the players, which is at the heart and soul of what a football club is about.

Rose, Townsend, Kane? If Carroll, Mason and Fredricks prove themselves (most probably on loan) they will get a chance. Otherwise they will be sold and the money reinvested.

You should get yourself some, might cheer you up a bit ;)

I'm currently on holiday at a 5 star resort in Egypt and had sex this morning thanks mate - the only thing irritating me in my world right now is our transfer policy :)

I think Stambouli is a plan B for Schneiderlin, which ITK's suggest is looking less and less likely. Personally I don't mind a punt on these types of players from time to time. Comes with little fanfare and even less pressure. These are the sorts of players other clubs pick up in the £3-6m bracket, then if successful, we get quoted £15-18m for a year or so later. Maybe with a better scouting/management setup we are cutting out that middle club and buying at source.

Feel bad for this guy for when he signs. He's got massive expectations as the MS plan B.

All he's gotta do is drive the ball forward with intent once or twice a game, and that's good enough of an improvement for me.

We're waiting to make deadline day a bit more exciting.
Probably paid by SkySports to hold up the signing.
