Play him Saturday. Let Hugo rot on the bench and think about all the goals he has let in recently... ;)

Gotta be honest, I haven't been his biggest fan on here since he joined. Solid but I don't really like stay at home, glued to the line 'keepers. Much prefer proactive ones. However he was a solid PL keeper right into his 40's and he was obviously a top pro and has worked hard to stay at that level, which deserves nothing but respect. The bits I have seen of him he has the makings of a good pundit, and I can imagine he has potential as a coach too.

Wouldn't begrudge him a few minutes at the weekend, I believe it would get him the record as oldest PL player.

Who now steps in to become our number 3? I assume McGee just steps up, but we have a history of making sure we have 3 senior keepers on our books.

Seems like a great professional. Shame he didn't stay on in some kind of coaching capacity.

Always seemed like a solid pro and a great person.

Good luck to the guy with what he does next although I hope he comes back really soon and works as a coach or something.

RECOMMEND POSSIBLE FUTURE STAFF ROLE.

I THINK YOU'D MAKE AN EXCELLENT COACH WHEN YOU EVENTUALLY HANG UP YOUR BOOTS!

Saturday's our last home game correct? Start him on Saturday, let him wear the armband and take him off for Hugo sometime after the second half starts to a standing ovation from the fans, staff, players and the board. Deserves it. Im sure Hugo will understand.
I'd just do what LVG did with Vorm at the World Cup- play him for the last couple of minutes if we are winning comfortably, which is unlikely.

Winning or losing what does it matter anyway? Pointless game isn't it? (Pride aside)

His statement;

When I was a boy growing up in Bay Village, near Cleveland, Ohio, I played every sport I could. I loved the competition, the physical challenge and mastering skills. When soccer became my main sport there was no professional league to speak of in the US and it was hard to dream of a career in the game. Now, reflecting on an adventure that started when I joined UCLA in 1989, and ends in the next few weeks with Tottenham, it all seems very surreal.

I have had highs and lows, ups and downs, met some incredible people, learned more than just how to keep goal, traveled to places all over the globe, and played against world’s best. During that time I have had the privilege of representing some of the greatest football clubs in the world, and experienced the passion of fans who I have felt were behind me in saving every shot or catching every cross.

For those people who have followed me as fans at UCLA, Brondby, Galatasaray, Columbus Crew, Liverpool, Blackburn, Aston Villa, Tottenham, and the US National Team; I am honored that you let me be a part of your dedicated and loyal support.

To the managers, coaches, trainers, physios, kit personnel, medical team; to the other staff, from executives to groundskeepers, security people, and kitchen staff – all the support staff – you are the people who make every football club tick on a day-to-day basis, I can only say thank you.

I have played with some outstanding players. When you play a team sport there is a special and unique bond that you have with your teammates. Those are moments I will never forget.

As I now embark on a second career, I will continue to be involved in the game. I look forward to my work as an analyst with FOX Sports, and as a Tottenham Club Ambassador in the US.

If I have provided the inspiration to a single player to take up the game, to strive to be better, and maybe even, to play at the highest level; then that is a legacy I will be immensely proud of.

Brad Friedel

A top professional but more importantly a top man, i wish there was more like him in the game.

I posted on the front page but I'll do it again here:-
He has been a credit to the game, his clubs, his country and himself his entire career, a class act and I am very pleased he will be an ambassador for our club.

He needs to start the game against Everton. If we win, he needs to get himself sent off in the 90'. He will become the oldest player to ever start and ever get sent off in the epl.

8th won't ever get an EL place and 7th only becomes an EL place if Arsenal win the FA Cup.
Apologies then I'd misunderstood

Still like to see him get at least a few minutes give him that record he deserves it
