his cutback to son was absolute gash. if he can work on those little details and get them right consistently he will be very useful. (assuming he gets fitter under ange's training regime)

A couple writing a young player off after a few matches since joining and what? Two starts in an injury hit side with injuries of his own?

Never change SC. Never change.
Well, for young player 47 million seems a lot.

We've seen the incredible improvements that our recent spell of incomings can bring, we have seriously good 1st teamers from Vic to AM so we now know what great players look like 1st hand.

This wealth of talent has suddenly made previous heroes eg, Skipp look ordinary and so far Johnson's tendency to pass back and not take his man on is a concern.

25 Prem goals so far. Our forward line, for a flat out attacking team, hasn't dazzled.

We're still early in Ange's reign. Villa showed we are capable of creating the chances just not taking them. I'd rather that than not creating anything.

But that wasn't my point. People expect too much of a young kid based on his fee (that he has zero to do with). He came in, was injured v Arsenal and has only had cameos before Wolves. He has had two starts and one full 90 minutes I believe. I have seen enough positives to think he can only get better once he is fully settled.

Every player is going to be different as to how quickly they settle. A few came in like a house on fire, others can take time. The early injury didn't help his cause. All I am saying is give the lad time before saying he is bang average and not good enough.

Everyone knows that we need to see more of those chances converted - that will come with time.

I really thought Johnson looks threatening at almost every single time going forward when he plays. Not sure why the dissatisfaction on him TBVH.

I think he’s made a decent first impression.

Seems his value will mostly be in pure goals and assists. If he starts finishing his chances and playing a better final ball our season will quickly get back on track.

We didn’t get the ball out to him anywhere near enough in the first half against Villa, but having said that he’s looked sharp and eager to impress in the games he’s played so far.

No issues from me with this signing, and his adaptability to play across all front 3 positions shouldn’t be diminished.

He's fast, clocked as second fastest in the league previous season. And we see that he get himself into a lot of goal scoring opportunities. Give it time. Son asked for a transfer away after his first season with us.

It's a bit too early to pass judgement on him. He came back from injury, and has only played 2 games.

Seems a bit premature to label him as anything.
People already have their minds made up from the day we signed him. They would rather stick to being right about him in their own minds than wait and see how he actually does.

This is all fair enough and I'm sure we all here wish him every success.

He needs to contribute a little bit more. I understand injuries have hampered his touch and match fitness.

Is Johnson carrying an injury he looks half arsed today.
he’s been like this in all of his appearances so far. he’s always late in tracking back, seems like he can’t be arsed to do his part in putting in a shift. not a fan of that

I think he’s actually got a bad engine, he looks shattered constantly

Need to give him time but I think he looks like a passenger so far today. Hopefully he’ll be more assertive in the second half

I fully agree he needs time. Not gonna write him off but he needs to get fit and start working harder. Almost cost us the game with that half arsed pass in the city box. Can forgive that but need more effort.
