Sad to see him go. Would have liked to see him have been given more of a chance. Majority of the opportunities he got were playing out of position on the right with a mixture of kids and the useless 11. Hardly ideal for anybody coming into a new country. Definitely a player for the future from what ive seen. Hope he comes back ? ?

just annoyed it isnt to an England PL team - I genbuinely dont know what purpose this serves. Im a Valencia fan - yes I support all the shit teams who dont win anything (Spurs, Seahawks, Valencia, Fiorentina, Canadiens, Hornets) Like thats a fucking joke - and I sound like a broken record but surely a PL team would have taken him. I can only assume that we wouldnt have wanted anyone who would pose a threat to take him

Who would take the chance on him?

Hopefully going back to Spain he can settle into his team quicker. I don't know what his English is like.

Gutted he didn’t get a run of games but it makes sense to loan him out and get some game time. We’ve often seen the likes of Clarke, Rodon & KWP being wasted sitting training with the first team and not get any game time.

The impact Skipp had at Norwich just goes to show how a solid season playing regularly can drastically improve confidence and quality.

Good luck to the lad.

Wouldn’t be surprised if he never plays for us again.

Hope he does well over there.
Sadly I think you could be right. Seems strange to send him off on loan back to Spain so quickly when he has barely featured here.

Def needs minutes, not sure he is gonna get the chance for more than end of match cameo every couple of weeks.

The flip side is he has looked tidy, bit of a Spark in there that could be developed. Must have been bought with future in mind but doesn't seem to have had that development plan in place for him

Only demonstrates Paratici has zero strategy. No idea what he’s doing. We spend big money on a youngster; rather than gaining experience here we just send him back to the league he’s used to playing in and learn nothing new. A year on his contract wasted.

Makes no sense other than our Director of Football has no direction.

Our squad is just getting shittier by the day. And it was crap before the window opened.

JUst seems such a strange one for me.
Lamela going was tough to take, but this guy seemed like the real thing.
Oh well if he does return let's hope he's better for his loan or get make a profit at least

Can't really go wrong with a simple loan - especially if he wasn't going to play. He's a really talented boy, hopefully he smashes it. Does make me wonder what the point in the initial transfer was.

I’m glad we haven’t messed about the guy has talent but clearly isn’t ready to play for us yet. So I’d rather he went on loan and get more game time then the odd few mins in the cup.

Pretty sure it was an opportunistic flyer. An expensive one, but a lot of upside. He was obviously going to struggle physically early on here - probably thinking was he’d get a ton of minutes in Europe and the early cup games, which we don’t have any more of.

At this age he needs minutes wherever that can happen, and it wasn’t going to happen here.

We are still in the FA Cup or do you have some ITK? Should I stick a bet on Brighton?

I dont get this one. We hold on to players who hardly ever contribute anything at all, until no one will take them.

This guy comes and always seems bright as a late sub at least. Even if he isn't starter material, he gives the opposition strife when coming on. Why do we want to pack him off for an 18 month loan, seemingly never to be seen again.

Also, people are being harsh towards the deal to bring him here. As if we saught out Gil and offered up Lamela in return. In truth, the calculation is trying to get some value from Lamela as his productivity at Spurs was waning but recognising that the deal to sell him depends on the clubs willing to take him and the type of transaction that club wants.

Ha ha. Early cup games. The way in will be against real EPL teams and certainly no guaranty we keep advancing. Better to get him the chance to play 18 games vs 1-2

This signing and now his subsequent loaning out six months later, sends out so many wrong messages to young talent its disgraceful.

From what I saw of Gil he was always showed positivity, desire and a willingness to impact the game.
