Having not involved in Euros, playing from bench in 28C, 90% humidity should serve as a nice preseason for Gil.
He is should come back fighting fit ready for the PL
I am expecting he will be an option off the bench to start this season, and picking up minutes in the European Conference League - but, I hope he forces his way into the XI quickly.

I also hope we don't go to 3 in teh back, because I think that will cost us a creative player up front.

He looks exciting. Faded a little as extra time wore on, but was prepared to switch sides to try to get involved. He looks very direct, running at defenders and drawing tackles. Also noticed a couple of occasions when he came across the line in the CF position for the little ball in behind. Got played in but the pass was overhit.

Another thing I noticed; playing high wide left, he was prepared to come in off the line if he didn't get the ball straight away, just a 10 yard movement, but allows both the overlap and getting himself in between the RFB and RCB. He doesn't just stand still, he keeps moving. That could be interesting with Reggie/Sess overlapping.

He might seem a little lightweight (yes, Modric etc etc), and I wouldn't be surprised to see the more experienced FBs (eg Walker) get the better of him initially, but we've got a player here, for sure.

I hate these comparisons myself(new Ronaldo, new Messi) but with this kid i can't help myself because he really reminds me of Messi. I've never seen a player looking so much similar to Leo with his movement, dribbling and direct play. He is so young but already has so much confidence.
Can see him becoming a great player. Maybe we will have a new rivalry in the near future? Because Chiesa, on the other hand, reminds me of CR7 :joyful:
Time only knows! (y)

I've done my usual thing of avoiding watching him but just some of the comments on here have got me excited (there are some posters on here whose opinion I'd respect more than my own! ?).
I'll probably watch the final highlights on the BBC shortly but that will honestly be the first I'll have seen of him.

As I say, I have enough faith in some on here to be rather excited already though. He sounds to be the 'bums off seats' player we love to have.

I said before technically he has everything. It’s about mentality, physicality fitness and a lot of luck from now on.

You get the feeling that with this guy (and Romero) that if the Spanish clubs weren't fucked and we didn't get paratici we'd have no chance of signing them.

Real next level signings. This guy could be huge for us next season, definitely more talented than what we've got, it's just a case of how quickly he settles.

Looked like he has a serious burst of speed off the mark. Quite impressed with what saw in that game, looks like a quality acquisition.

You will love watching this guy go forward and terrify defences. If we can combine that with a deadly free kick taker who will be able to take advantage of the inevitable fouls he will draw then it will be a massive advantage.
I can't wait to watch him go to work in a Spurs shirt.
