Another creative player being shipped out. Our ‘recruitment’ under conte seems to mirror what we expected from mourinho. Creativity out- rigid system guys now frills in
In this case it's likely more to do with Gil seemingly not being able to handle the physical side of the prem. Having him play first-team football regularly will likely aid his development

The "rigid system" created 27 shots, 10 on target against Leicester.

The "creative players" being shipped out aren't playing for us anyways.

Gil going on a half season loan isn't going to make or break our season.

That game was a bit of an exception though and it even surprised most of us. We were against one of the worst defences in the league. Soyuncu and Vestergard have been abysmal this season, Choudhary isn't even a CB, Albrighton is a 34 year old part time wing back. Plus they had no protection without Ndidi, and Tielmans looks shattered. But I agree those players leaving won' really hurt us.

We need another creative player in midfield (who will actually contribute something), if not another attacker if we play 5-2-3/3-4-3. Either way that man isn't Gil at the moment.

It also created openings against Chelsea that we failed to take advantage of because we didn’t have enough quality on the ball. I love the system, trust Conte and how much he has transformed us in such a short time but you can put more talent in the system and the system will work better.

For what it’s worth, I can’t see us allowing Gil to go on loan if we move Ndombele, Lo Celso and Dele this week. While I think Gil needs to develop a lot still it might not be bad for Conte to keep him around and try and figure out what his role is even going to be because he has played all over the place in fits and spurts.

Gil has some of those unteachable capabilities so there is a part of me who would love to see him stay and train under Conte. While the time in the Championship would do him some good, I'm not sure its as good as training full time with AC even if he is playing part time.

Championship? Think if he had a loan it’d be to a premier league side. He’s a full Spain international, can’t see him dropping down to the championship.

Gil was a signing for Nuno with 433 in mind. He just isn’t a natural fit into a Conte side. I like Gil really good player and just needs game time. A season of regular football in England is all he needs to gain the physical side of the game.

The rigid system created over 79 shots in 3 away games.

We didn't use the system v Chelsea.

It’s really not easy for young kids moving to new countries right now. I know lockdowns haven’t been as serious since he moved here, but it must still be a lonely time, especially if you’re not getting regular game time etc.

I'm surprised by that, as he certainly doesn't give off these vibes when he's on the pitch or bench. Testament to his personality and work ethic I guess. I hope we can work it out, but it's a real expensive situation if he wants out already.

Probably BS spread by the club (can't remember which one) in Spain who want him on loan.

We do seem to have an issue with our overseas imports struggling to adapt to England, obviously i only follow Spurs players but i am wondering whether this is common with most clubs or do we lack in the player liaison department.

It used to be so bad for foreign players not even that long ago - when Abramovic first took over at Chelsea they were signing these hugely expensive foreign imports and expected that because they were paying them such big wages they should be able to just get on with it and settle in. Hernan Crespo was the one I remember reading about - where he said he couldn't speak any English, had no friends in London, struggled to find a place to live, whenever he got any sort of letter like a gas bill then he couldn't read it so it just made him even more depressed, and then everyone was baffled as to why he wasn't able to replicate the form he'd shown in Italy.

Nowadays most clubs will have relocation consultants they work with - people that will help find accomodation for a player, help find schools for their kids, help set them up with language tutors etc. I have no idea if ours are any good or not compared to the rest of the league (remember seeing them finding Bergwijn a flat in the Amazon doc) but you'd think if you are going to spend all that money on an expensive new player then you'd at least make sure they feel comfortable in their new surroundings.
