Hope they find him an English side to play out the remainder of th season, get used to the league, the country. I have a lot of hope for Gil, seems he has everything to make it big, things just need to click for him. Quick, creative, good technique, great attitude. Really want him to break through for us eventually.

Just needs to play as many minutes as possible. If Spain makes that happen and minimizes the transition, so be it.

Disappointed he's not joining an English team

Agree with this. He’s got all the ability to be one of the best players in the league imo. He won’t ever show it if he doesn’t get used to the pace and physicality in this country. No point delaying the process by sending him back to Spain.

Don't love the idea of us sending Gil back Spain for just a few months if we believe he has a future here. He's young, but has already proven himself in La Liga and is a full Spanish international. He has already developed the technical ability to make it at this level, but his physicality remains a concern. For that reason I feel if we're looking to develop him he should be sent to another club in England. Not to mention Valencia is a strong side currently in the race for the Champions League places – he won't find it easy to get minutes there either (they are beating the current league leaders Atletico 2-0 as I type this).

I think the real problem with Bryan is his tactical fit for the squad. As a natural left sided wide player, a permanent switch to a 3-5-2 formation does not suit him. Thus said, I'd rather him train with the squad every day, work on Conte's automatisms, and try to find where he fits in the team across substitute appearances. Could he play as an attacking LWB when we need more forward thrust and creativity than Reguilon and Sess could provide? Could he play in a 3-man midfield? Will we resume playing 3 up front in some matches and he can slot in on the left? Maybe Conte has already made his evaluation that Bryan isn't a good tactical fit for his team. I'm interested to see how these reports develop. He is still a highly sought-after young player. If we are really sending him back to a top side in Spain, it might be with a purchase option/obligation to free up funds for another attacking player more suited to Conte's system. If not, it feels like we might be trying to hoist him up for a summer transfer. With the talent he has, he is probably just one Bergwijn vs Leicester moment away from changing his situation here.

Just breaking that Valencia want Gil on loan. Two clicks and your I can translate the full tweet to English ?

But some of us don't do twitter and are technophobes.
If it's only "two clicks" to translate it, surely that's easy enough to do while you're posting the article/tweet?

I think he'd be great on the left wing if we want someone a bit more advanced that side. Also with Sess having history with injuries it would be good to keep him around just in case.

This article suggests he'd only be allowed to leave on loan IF we don't shift Dele or Lo Celso in this window.

Interesting that GLC is considered available...

Valencia asks Tottenham for the loan of Bryan Gil

Antonio Conte will only allow the Spaniard to leave if Tottenham fails to place Lo Celso or Dele Alli in this January market

Would rather he just play more for us. He's a solid 7/10 most times and is tenacious off the ball - not a luxury player at all. Just needs minutes and maybe a goal or two.

I'd like to see him get a loan move to someone like Brighton.

But agree with the notion that he just has to be playing at the highest level possible. If that's la Liga, so be it.

Loan would be a good shout. He has some potential but no where near effective enough for what we need right now I’m afraid. He was always one for the future anyways.

I’m convinced Conte said to Bergwijn and Doherty that he needed a performance to see why he should keep them the other night. Don’t be surprised to see Gil come on today and play a blinder. I look at the kid and see the stature of Luke Modric - he had to find a way to survive on the pitch amongst giants and I’m sure Bryan has the talent and determination to succeed here.

For a club with a budget as limited as ours and a squad as shallow as ours, spending 25m and Lamela on a kid who is clearly far away from being ready fo play at this level was terrible business.

Another creative player being shipped out. Our ‘recruitment’ under conte seems to mirror what we expected from mourinho. Creativity out- rigid system guys now frills in

Seems like Conte has decided he won't be a regular fixture this season, so fair enough, lone him out.

The jury is very much out on him. It's early days.

I look at the kid and see the stature of Luke Modric

I like this view. Not that he is remotely as talented but he has similar characteristics in that he's slight, nimble, technical, good balance, and seems up for the fight. I'd be happy for him to go away for 6 months and come back stronger next season, because I don't see him really having any kind of say in our season if he stays.
