Exciting to watch but lacks something when it comes to that killer pass or cross. Not sure he will ever be much more than we see now. Doesn't have the end product to be much better.

The audacity of Carlos to go down under Gil's miniscule challenge to stop us scoring and to then elbow him in the face.

He works really hard and he can do some good things but I just fear he’s too lightweight and doesn’t have that explosive burst to make up for his lack of physicality.

Without that burst he just can’t cleanly get away from players and beyond them and it restricts his effectiveness in wide areas.
It’s so weird to have a player of his skill and physically ability playing as an out and out winger. Surely someone should have coached him into playing off the right cutting onto his left to act as a playmaker

I though he had a better game than Johnson who for me had a poor game and for a pacey winger never beat his man. Gill is not a winger, is not pacey. His trickery and guile is better deployed at left of centre as he did in Spain. For me the problem is playing Son as our central attacker and then trying to make everything fit around him.

First start since….forever. All things considering, back from injury, first match etc I thought he made things happen, not many killer passes, but one or two great moments. Played a bit too safe generally.

With a few more matches under his belt, and in this team, with its movement, I’m happy to see how he goes.

Surely we need goals from the wide areas , thought he played too many safe backward balls . We can’t just rely on Sonny for goals , wide players like Johnson , Gil and kulu need to be getting double figures or close to and neither look likely( Gil, kulu) . Early days in Ange era and I’m sure he’s well aware of our short falls . Really disappointed at the moment cos with our first 11 available we would walk into the top 4 and at the moment the sheer amount of fixtures coming up means we may well be too far behind by the time we get our big players back . Every week we seem to be praying another playing isn’t going to be out for too long .

He literally stuck one on a plate for Son
1 out of how many? I watched him bombed countless others. But if that’s the level you are wanting us to be at then so be it. There’s a reason our squad got to where it was because we kept on with players not good enough and not suited to the league.

He’s the kind of player that needs to be a starter and have a run of games to have his full potential impact. Is he a good enough player for that scenario to happen while we’re a CL chasing team? Not for me. I’d argue he’s probably not even good enough to be the first winger off the bench for a team that level.

When he gets the ball you expect him to keep it because he is technically good but you don’t ever expect anything to happen when he receives the ball in the final third because he has no burst of pace, no shot power, no strength, no weak foot making him predictable and very little composure. He’s much worse than both Solomon and Perisic in terms of end product and we aren’t having a problem keeping the ball, we’re having a problem putting it in the net. My opinion hasn’t changed, this lad will not cut it here and he’s still the worst winger option we have when everyone is fit.

Definitely not a bad player whatsoever, he’s a good player, not good enough though and makes very little difference where it actually really counts and that’s a clear issue of his, he just has no end product over a long period of time now either here or on loan.

I thought he was bright and lively. Give him a run of games to build up chemistry with Udogie and Son and he'll improve further.

This is it for me. He looks a tidy player, he just wasn’t on the same wavelength as Sonny and Udogie. Give him time and it’ll come.

Looking at the long term picture we're likely to be in european competition next season and there will be many more games for him to be involved in. Perisic is likely to be gone by the seasons end, and we don't know if Richarlison will stay long term or look to move on (be moved on). The performance from Gil yesterday was about as good as Solomon give or take so i dont see an issue with him continuing his development and creating competition for the back up options.

I think Ange will be happy with how he performed, showed he will play in the style ange wants, even if lots of it didnt come off yesterday, With game time his confidence and chemistry will grow and hell be a perfect fit for us. He was actually involved in a lot of our best play yesterday, especially the really quick build up play. Hes much better than Johnson in the deeper link play.

I am not so sure I think with Solomons pace and shooting ability he would very likely have made a lot more from the Kulu flick.

Just seen the elbow incident, wtf are these plebs in var watching, not only should it be a pen but if that's Romero he gets his marching orders every day of the week for that, incredible.

Supposedly VAR was experiencing technical issues when it happened so they missed it...
