I think his technical ability is there but he needs to be on the pitch for more than 200 minutes a season. Silva was originally a goalkeeper at youth level then a winger at Valencia before moving more central around the age of 25. I’m not saying Gil will be as good, Silva is a great of the modern prem, but I do see a similarity in them as players and the same transition could be possible for Gil. To what level is the question, hence my point around where this is realised, spurs or Brentford or roma etcI’m sorry but he’s nothing like David Silva. He just simply doesn’t have the technical ability.
He has shown no signs of being able to dictate the tempo of a game, even in Spain.
To his credit, he always gives 100%. But he will never come close to being that type of player IMO.
