He did alright and had a goal scoring touch, but personally you could see a lot of his game is not developed enough for a 26 year old. As soon as we faced an organised quality defense he struggled and rather got lost. Also he has real bad awareness towards offside positions. Tbf he had not that much chances but scoring goals by strikers was never a real issue this season.

Don't think we are a good fit for Vini either, he can achieve more in different set ups as a starting striker.

Guess it looks like I'm going to be the one going against the grain.

Yes he's scored 9 in 12, in Cup games.

2 came against Ludogrets.
1 against Royal Antwerp.
3 against Wolfsberger.
3 against Marine.

With all due respect, acknowledging you can only play what's in front of you, they're all pretty shit.

In the PL, despite appearing against the likes of WBA, Leeds, Fulham, Sheffield Utd, Brighton, Palace & Newcastle. His only goal came via a 30cm tap-in against Aston Villa.

When he has been given (admittedly brief) appearances in the PL, he's looked well out of his depth, in my opinion. He's somewhat lumbering & cumbersome, clumsy in possession & just not quick enough in anything he does.

We've played 34 league games, for 7 of those he hasn't even made the match day squad. In 15 of those games, he was in the bench but not used.

That's 22 games out of 34 in which he was not deemed good enough to have any impact upon what was required on the pitch.

From what I've seen, I can understand that.
I think this is fair. The only caveat I’d apply is that which I use on basically all our back up strikers... he’s never really had regular enough pitch time to get into the rhythm by which he could both improve and offer more.

I think if he’d started more he’d have at least a decent return, even if the rest of his game seemed lacking. Think super Pav.

I think it'd make a lot of sense for Wolves to go for him, they've really missed a striker this year and he'd get more minutes there than here.

I think we've misused him a little and would have loved to see more of him at Spurs/would love for us to keep him, but given how much it'd cost to get him with our deal I think we need that money elsewhere.

Lil bit of a shame because when he did play he scored. So as much as his 'overall' game was rough around the edges, he did the thing he was meant to do and put the ball in the back of the net. Really think we should have tried pairing him WITH Kane rather than basically just using him as a Kane alternative in cup games vs. weaker teams.

Sods law / Spursy law - he'll bang in loads of goals for Wolves! I can just feel it...

Like the boy.
If Harry goes
he's one to keep
If Levy can get the price down /
say 20/25 million.
We've done the hard yards with him
new country, new language, new league , new team.
unless of course
we've another Academy reared
Cracker-jack to step into Harry's shoes
which I don't think we have.

Then good on him. But even then we would never consider him replacing Harry Kane up front.

Is this not our issue though? It's not replacing Kane, more having an alternative. I don't think anyone, even Vinicius himself, thought he would be replacing Kane.

Yeah but if he is banging them in for Wolves or anyone else it does not say if he would ever be a good alternative for us.
It would probably have more to do with him playing every week and having a system that is more made for his game.

There's no chance we'll buy
It was better to rent
And the main reason why
He couldn't trap a bag of cement

This Vinicius-saga has really turned to shit. And most of it is Mourinho's faulth.
But also Levy. Why on earth are we doing a loan in the first place with an option to buy at such a high fee, what's the point if we're not using him? He could have got SO many minutes this season it's unreal.

The point was we needed a back up and had no money to do it. Getting top scorer in Portuguese league for 3m for 1 season is incredible business

I'm torn. I'd keep him as backup but wouldn't be happy with him as a starter unless he improved. I'm not sure he has the seriousness about his game to make it as a top striker although I think he does have a fair bit of talent.

whilst alot of that is true a certain Welshman has also been underused and ignored when we needed a goal also? he also appeard to many on this board to have Lost it and nothing more than a dl vanity project, so for that reason alone I would have liked to have seen more of vini because I actually think he has talent

Rhyme is fine.
You need to work on your rhythm (metre)
the last line doesn't scan and is too long.
Don't give up the day job just yet.

try 'unable to trap a bag of cement'

You are to poetry what Ryan Mason is to football management.

most productive back up we've had in ages. Its not like we didnt play shitty Europa league teams in the previous seasons. Marine I'll give you. Keep him.

For a reported £36 million? No chance.

There’s plenty of players who can score goals against Marine and LASK for less than that.

I dont think he's good enough for us, even as a back-up.
He is too much like Janssen; plays with his back to goal too much, doesn't have the agility/technique to turn and create/score.
