Saw his interview afterwards. I know he Is low-key but man it was another level lol. Like he was talking about doing the shopping. My worry is he will be selected over lamela or moura just because it’s him that’s poch way. Having Kane eriksen dele in a starting line up would definitely be having 3 players not at their best which could be costly.
I'd suggest Dele is more in form than Lucas based on recent performances.

I'm probably in the minority here but Barca etc won't go near him, he's far too inconsistent. Yep he has some sublime moments but the Denmark manager called him out and I'm struggling to remember the last time he took a game by its neck.

Very much a Spursy type player, talented but soft, he'll sign a new contract when he realises there's no alternatives.

Exactly but I've said the same thing and you'll just get a bunch of neg reps for daring to question golden boy.

It's about quality of post. Blackburn acknowledges that he is talented but doesn't have that bit more to play for the elite.

Your posts make it sounds like he is useless. Do you ever post about anything other than Eriksen?

Your argument might hold some weight if Barca hadn’t literally signed Paulinho 12 months ago.

Last season he ran the 6th most in the league. 9th For assists. According to Goal he was the 4th highest chance creator in Europe last season. He got 10 goals and 9 assists in the league.

So I don't think he is far off from the elite clubs wanting him. But this was his season to move on a level and so far it is not happening. His history doesn't suggest an attitude problem, more likely world cup hangover.

I've mentioned before I only really post on here to counter the Eriksen love-in because I gave up posting on all things Spurs a while back. Anyway, I've quoted a couple of my posts from a while back that are almost identical to what Blackburn is saying. All winding up aside, Eriksen is clearly a very technically gifted footballer, I've never denied that, but for all of the shit that players such as Berbatov, Ade and Sissoko (just to name a few) have received over the years for either being lazy, shit or both, Eriksen seems to receive the opposite, unrelenting praise regardless of performance (mostly because he runs a lot even though his pressing is generally laughable).

That level of praise is why I go over the top in calling him out, I don't really have an issue with the bloke as a player, he has provided some very good footballing moments for us but as Blackburn mentioned, he's a very Spursy type player and I can't see him fitting into any top European side that requires him to have anything other than a free role.

Why are Arsenal fans so frustrated with Ozil? Because he has all the talent but no desire.
Why are Spurs fans so happy for Lamela this season? Because he's shown nothing but desire since he joined.

Which one of those would Eriksen fall under?

@dtxspurs Of course Eriksen looks better when those around him are playing well but he's supposedly a world class player who is Barcelona bound by many on here and that level of player should be taking the game by the scruff of the neck and making things happen. The Denmark manager called him out a few years ago regarding his lack of desire/commitment and it shows on the pitch for Spurs and has done pretty much every game this season.

The reason Lamela is loved is because despite his flaws he is a true fighter who raises those around him. With Eriksen, you have a player who is a very gifted footballer that you wouldn't want in the trenches with you.

Obviously he's a very good player when he wants to be but he's far too inconsistent to be considered world class imo and I do laugh when people bang on about Barcelona coming in for him, I certainly don't mind eating humble pie if that ever happens!

There's a reason why Eriksen has not been bid for by any top European clubs since joining Spurs and I'll give you a hint, despite what people on here think it's not because he's flown "under the radar" of top European scouts who believe it or not might actually have seen him play a few times.

I think he should be congratulated for doing everything he can to scupper his move to Real or Barca...

Joking aside, he’s no where near 100 per cent, and we miss him massively.

was that before or after he scored 19 goals in 23 caps and carried his country to a world cup finals?

eriksen always tends to start the season a bit slowly for whatever reason so i'm not particularly worried at this point, i'm sure he'll turn it on again soon and by the end of the season this poor spell of form will be forgotten.

I think that style of player regularly gets criticised.

In England we love the hearts and guts player but I have shown that Eriksen is in the top five runners in the league.

So it is not a case of him not putting in a shift.

John White used to get the same but ghosting is a fine art and turning up in places unnoticed is a very useful tool.

Eriksen runs more than any other player and , Kane aside, has a higher tally of goals and assists than any player at the club.

He is the 5th chance creator is Europe, last season. So I don’t think it is out of place for him to get a huge amount of praise.

No one is going to remember posts from individual posters from a long time ago.

If your posts consist of nothing but saying Eriksen is terrible and doesn’t do anything people will see you as a troll.

Eriksen might run the most but he's ineffective defensively in his tracking and is a complete coward in the tackle.
That totally negates the fact he runs alot for me

Disagree.

Eriksen presses well and covers areas. This does have a positive affect on the team.

Carrick used to read the game well, make numerous interceptions and nick the ball rather than make full blooded tackles.

There is a plus to both styles of play.

If Eriksen wasn’t putting in the work there would be a problem but he does.

Watch him closely next time he plays.
Comparing his defensive side to Carrick's is laughable.

Obviously Eriksen does it further up the pitch , I was just pointing out that the full blooded tackles isn’t the only way.

Eriksen does get a good number of interceptions and tackles. Think you need to watch more closely.
