Probably why we are willing to spank a load of cash on lo celso as his replacement. There’s no way we’d be spending all that money on him if we weren’t getting cash in from somewhere.

No doubt Madrid can afford him but surely splashing out on Jovic & Hazard & then presumably a large figure on Eriksen will come under FFP?

No, I think they'll be fine.

Someone recently posted in one of the many threads on here, that RM have had a Net Spend of £20m-odd in the last few years.

They've actually managed to get a surprising amount on their sales in that time and I'm not sure they've brought in many Galacticos either.

All in all, they haven't spent much.

He's clearly had a move on his mind this season.

Those that though his form was unrelated were being foolish.

All the very best Eriksen.
Most of our world cup players haven't been good this year. Eriksen, Trippier, Alli, Dier even Son took a while to get going, I think it kicked off for him after the international break. The rest looked tired or picked up big injuries. Even Kane wasn't the machine he usually is. I think the squad will benefit from the break and some fresh faces hopefully.

Real have already just spent 140 million If they are truly gonna spend big on pogba and hazard too I don't see them adding eriksen

Personally I think his Spanish dream may be fading. He hasn't helped himself with his lackluster end of season and cl final display

Why?? They have loads of players to free funds Bale isco Ceballos kovacic James Asensio etc
will probably get them 200m maybe more?? and they haven’t spent much recently.. last major ‘Galactico’ was James after 2014 WC. Still got a bit left over from Ronaldo fee plus they’ve saved 30m on his wages alone this season. Can literally do what they want

It's been great having Eriksen at Spurs, but I'm okay with the idea of him moving on and don't hold any grudge against him looking to secure a move to a mega club at what should be the peak of his career.

I do also hope that he looks back slightly enviously as we finally take the next big step to winning things - COYS!

Is anybody really surprised? he would have signed a new contract ages ago if he was staying and we've been bidding sums of money lately reminiscent of the summer Bale was sold.

Or honest and respectful? Depends on which opinion one holds if him and the buas one therefore has...
Or idiotic and misjudged. Eriksen would've surely known the reaction Pochettino had to Kyle Walker when he did similar. He's bound to have read Pochettino's book, too.

I'm not sure how he would've expected Poch to react.

He had the 10th most key passes from open play per 90 minutes this season in the league, according to StatsBomb. Maybe others should have had their mind on a move if it meant they were going to have this type of form.

All this despite rarely playing in his correct position.

If they manage to get rid of any of James, Kovacic, Marcelo, Navas, Bale they get even more transfer money and room for wages.

Having Bale on the books could make signing new players quite tricky if their agents start pointing out that they want to be paid more than someone who doesn't even get in the team.

Hard to have any resentment towards him tbh. He’s been amazing for this club, is incredibly respectful towards us, and clearly his potential move isn’t financially-motivated.

And we've known from the start that his ambition was to play for one of the big clubs in Spain one day.

News coming out now that Eriksen told Poch he wanted to leave TEN DAYS before the biggest game in his and our history.

That's absolutely disgusting if true.

Doesn't it depend who called the meeting? It's quite possible that Levy wanted to discuss the contract situation and finalize his plan for the summer.

I think he should have a word with Gareth Bale before he sets his heart on Madrid anyway. They'll rip him to bits if he doesn't deliver and I'm not sure he's the type to cope with that.

Since none of us, including Kirkpatrick, were at that conversation we have no clue how it went. If indeed it happened. So to compare to Walker is pure guesswork.

Both Pochettino and Eriksen are two people who have always carried themselves with absolute respect so is it hard to imagine, that a honest and respectful conversation between the two could actually have been both constructive, positive and mutually appreciated. Personally, I really like my employees to come forward and tell me that they are seeking new challenges rather than carrying it around.

Again, my bias just as yours, obviously weighs how we analyse this situation so I am sure we will not come to agreement. Onions.

I'm sure if he makes the money and wins the trophies Bale did he'll be happy.

My main concern is how to replace his creative output - people keep comparing the situation to Liverpool's with Coutinho, but Coutinho wasn't the fulcrum of their play, he just scored a few bangers.

Will need 2 players at least (one being Lo Celso) to maintain any creativity in the squad, especially given that we needed a new playmaker anyway.

A Bola says that we are looking at Bruno Fernades

The Headline is
"Tottenham want to take Bruno Fernades to replace Eriksen"

If Eriksen has his heart set on Real , then surely he would want to do his very, very best in the Madrid CL Final .

He had a quiet game tho , but its hard to believe that he didn't try his best in Madrid .
