Is Lenglet still in the France set up or has he been dropped from the national squad?

They inserted him into the match against Switzerland at the Euros, was at fault for the first goal conceded and promptly subbed off at HT in a game that France eventually lost, which unfortuntely for him only further damaged his reputation. Don't think he's had a look in ever since

Hopefully we will have an option tbh can’t see us doing it without one! I reckon after this season he will be classed as a 50 mill centre back again. Conte will get him back to his best and he is only 27

Don't know much about him, apart from the YouTube videos I've watched since we were linked, but one of my good friends is a Barcelona season ticket holder. This is what he said

Lenglet is kind of slow if he has to run backwards after an opponent, but for the rest he has been an excellent center back and I believe he will be again. I wouldn't let him go. He is reliable at defending and at playing the ball, and when attacking you don't know how he does it but all corner crosses end up in his head :)

Has anyone ever told Mr Romano that "paperworks" is incorrect? Paperwork is appropriately plural. As he reads these posts to pilfer ITK , I look forward to this grammatical improvement in due course.
Do you mean Senor Romano?

I guess it depends if we want him long term, or just using the loan to fill a gap until other options become available

I remember Ginola getting blamed for France not qualifying for the world cup and he went on to do ok for us. Hopefully Lenglet can do the same.

Paperwork is not 'appropriately plural' whatever that means, it's uncountable and takes a singular verb. Why don't you concentrate on improving your own grammatical knowledge before you criticise a non-native speaker for theirs?

Paperwork is a collective noun. The plural of paperwork is paperwork.

In fairness to me, his very latest tweet uses the word "documents" rather than (for years) using the incorrect word "paperworks". This rather proves my hypothesis that he is a regular reader on our esteemed site.

Every feckin thread, every feckin day. Romano this, Romano that. Can't ya just make a thread and take this bollocks there.

It's not even anything new is it, it's the same shit day on day.

I swear, if you came out for a drink with me, I'd get you nothing more than a babycham and I'd sit you next to Brian who works at the hydrographic office.

In fact, scrap that. You'd most probably bore the feck outta him as well.

O Romano, Romano, wherefore art thou Romano ?

Hopefully in his very own thread. Feck off.

Morning all. (y)

"Lenglet Move To Spurs Imminent"

Clement Lenglet will leave Barça in the next few hours. Today there is a summit meeting between Barça, Tottenham and the player's entourage to finalise the player's contract with an agreement between the clubs already closed at the expense of the centre-back giving the green light to the operation. Lenglet, who spoke to Tottenham boss Antonio Conte, was hesitating but finally gave his arm in the opposite direction last Friday and now it is a question of squaring all the figures because the Blaugrana club wants to save the whole of the player's salary.

If nothing strange happens, the transfer should be made official in the next few hours. The French centre-back has not yet presented himself for medical checks at Barça as he is on leave, as is the case with some of his other team-mates. Riqui Puig and Neto, who had permission, have gone to the sports city, but Lenglet will not be in Barcelona but the idea is that he will join Tottenham training immediately.

The loan will be for a single season and the option to buy will be worth more than ten million euros. Lenglet, finally, has decided to join a Champions League team where he will be an undisputed starter. The Frenchman was waiting for another option such as Juventus to come up, but the market is at a standstill and he has opted to give Tottenham the OK after Conte's sporting interest. He will have minutes, he will be able to revalue himself and he will gain options to play the World Cup in Qatar with France if his performance is optimal.
