Think I am in the minority judging by the comments. I don't think the hair pull is a sending off. Don't get me wrong it's clearly a foul and probably a yellow. But as it is not a red, no action was taken by VAR.

Even if it was reviewed again I'd be amazed if the decision was overturned. Ref had a great view (should have blown for a foul during that corner), VAR reviewed it and didn't intervene as ut was not worthy of a red in their opinion. If they were to take retrospective action now, it would look dreadful on the ref and VAR.

On Romero, he is so good. Absolute monster, he is going to be so important to us this season.

If that had been called right, it would've cost us points In the race against Chelsea. Had It been called a foul, the corner kick would have never happened.

And the goal might not have happened at all if Romero didn't do what he did. It shaked things up before the second corner kick.

Unfortunately his card is marked now and he will be targeted by opposition and officials going forward.

Put your hand in that curly hair. Of course your will get a little bit stuck. VAR got it right. Cucurella should rather get his hair cut than complain.

He is what he is. He'll pick up cards, some of them unnecessary, but every time he steps on the pitch his opponent will know there's every chance he'll get clattered. Take away that edge and we lose overall in my opinion.
Somehow he hasn’t received a yellow card in 9 straight league games

No, as VAR already looked at it.
Are we sure about this rule? e.g. Son got a red card against Everton (Gomes horror injury) which were looked at by VAR and the decision stood, however after the game Son’s suspension was removed.

if they can take away a punishment that VAR has looked at, can’t they add a punishment as well?

does it not depend if its in the refs report - I don't think its a sending off offence probably a booking but it was dumb

I thought he struggled today a bit as did many others

Loved that hair yank from Romero on Cucaracist, pay back for the snidey studs into the knee from early in the game. Romero keeps the receipts ?

I feel like it’s hard to judge his intent in the action. He has quite the height advantage over Cucurella and he was being pulled himself so started grabbing as well to gain leverage. That head of hair is so big that it covers the entire area where Romero would latch on based on his size in comparison. When you are fighting and pulling on a corner things happen quick.

This is why in American football any loose hair like that is considered part of the uniform and it’s at your own risk as a player if you choose to keep that style as you can get pulled down by the hair. Things happen to fast in professional sports to think an athlete can differentiate that quickly between all that lose hair that is covering the top of his uniform when both players are intensely hand fighting before a corner kick.
