Vincent Janssen, Georges-Kevin Nkoudou and Danny Rose have been granted additional time off in order to explore prospective opportunities with other clubs.

Club comment on the travelling squad on tour.

Just came on here to post the same. For me, he's by far our best fullback and will be a big miss if not replaced adequately.

Rest of the comments here -

Ben Davies, Eric Dier and Cameron Carter-Vickers will continue their rehabilitation at Hotspur Way.

Serge Aurier, Davinson Sanchez and Victor Wanyama will return to Enfield to start pre-season training next week following commitments with their national teams at summer tournaments.

Actually quite shocked the club would put that about Rose on the official website.

Oh wow. So it's confirmed by the club. That's that, then. Hopefully we get a better replacement in. In my world that would basically only be Digne, even though I've never been that overly keen on him, Firpo, who seems to be going to Barca, or.......... not sure? I can't even think of a clear upgrade in LB over Rose that would be available. Ryan Sess does not do it for me, I'd rather we start Davies.

Criminal if we go into this season without signing both a left and right back. Particularly now with both regulars now leaving.

Been mentioned by a few reliable journalists that we arent looking to sign an RB, unless the right price and opportunity arises. They didn't comment on a potential LB signing, assuming that Rose is off that is.

Why? I think it's refreshing for them to be transparent with us about the situation. It stops the speculation.
Putting him in a group with VJ and GKN after 12 years at the club, that's harsh. People can read between the lines.

The idea that we are signing this kid to play at LB is ridiculous. He's an atacking player, he may end up as a WB one day, but the very notion of selling a seasoned pro in Rose and putting a kid at LB from next season is horrible. We will be conceding left right and centre, hardly a defence built to title challenge.

Sam Wallace at the Telegraph is suggesting he's been briefed as such; that we see Sessegnon as a LB.

This hasn't come from posters personal opinion or perceptions.

If that's true, I'm assured that Poch has a plan.

My guess we'll start the season with Davies whilst he works on Sessegnon, rotates to suit the opposition, with cover from Aurier and even Verts.

I'm a bit nervy about it, but trust Poch's judgement, and I'm sure we won't sell Rose without Poch having his plan in place.

What are you on about? They are all in the same boat looking for pastures new, where else are they going to put him?

" Special note on Danny Rose - he may be looking for a new club but he'll forever be in our hearts while he does so, good lucky Danny and let us all know how it's going, but we'll happily take you back if you don't find anywhere!! xoxox "

Yeah I don't agree with it but reckon that's what will happen. I think it will be Sessegnon and Lo Celso in with Trippier, Rose, Toby and Eriksen all leaving. Not sure we will do anything else with Saliba and Ceballos off to the Goons. Would leave us short by 2 or 3 players.

No. It's not like we're "putting him in a group with VJ and GKN" ffs.
Rose wants to leave and has wanted that for some time. Him & Poch have mutual agreed for him to find a new club, nothing more in that.

Sounds like squad weakening more than strengthening

I'm fucking gutted about that. I was still hoping it wouldn't happen.

Surely he's asked for a transfer to move back north, where he always said he wanted to finish his career. I can't understand this at all if it's a club decision.

Yes definitely for the coming season but on the plus side we would have a much more youthful squad for the future. Clarke as well is a good signing. It wouldn't be ideal and we'd do well to get 4th again but it wouldn't be a disastrous window like last season.

Personally I think we'd need another left back, CM and forward for it to be considered good for this season. We have to look at RB as well to see if anyone exceptional becomes available.

They could leave him out like Trippier, Onomah and Edwards but yeah, sorry for being sentimental about a player who's been at the club for 12 years and given a lot.

I'm not. Spurs Twitter and the fan forums would go into absolute meltdown (more so than they already are) if Danny was omitted without comment or clarification from the club.

Hard to see him still being with us in 3 weeks' time.

A damn shame, he's been a solid servant to the club and is a genuine Spurs legend. Easily our best LB of my lifetime (unless you include Gareth Bale, who was actually quite a shit left back, but luckily absolutely lethal elsewhere)

However all good things come to an end, it's probably the right time for both Danny and the club that we part ways. In any other era I actually think he would probably have been our club captain for a while.
