How does he square "wanting to play in the Euros" with seeing out his contract, which is essentially squeezing every pound his contract says he can get from Spurs even if it kills his career.

He probably thinks that going to too weak a club will be tantamount to admitting he’s not good enough any more.

On a human level it must be very tough. Not long ago he was England’s best LB, playing the CL and playing really well. The decline has been really rapid, and is contrasted with Walker and his success at City.

We can try and pretend they should just get on with it, and that the money should make it all OK, but it’s probably pretty heavy stuff for someone to deal with, let alone someone who’s always been (seemingly) a fragile character (not meant disrespectfully)

he wasnt joking i guess...

I’ve got 18 months left on my contract and I’m not going anywhere until my contract has finished,” Rose told the Evening Standard.

I’m telling you right now that I’m not going anywhere until my contract is finished. Daniel Levy told me in the summer there was no new contract for me at Tottenham, which is fine. I respect that. We move on. My contract is up in 18 months’ time and I’ll leave the football club then.

Guess we will try and pay up his contract. He’s got no future with us.

What advantage does that give us? Why not hold onto him until his contract runs out?

If we aren't going to play him it doesn't cost us anything to retain him till next summer.

We get rid of a bad influence in the dressing room. Wasn’t Rose allegedly behind some of the “leaks” when Jose came in? Hardly a good guy to have around even the U23 squad.

In the all or nothing documentary when he's on the verge of signing for Newcastle on loan he asks levy if he's heard anything from Milan

AON doc. Goes into a meeting re his future with levy. Think levy tells him Bournemouth and Newcastle are interested, he asks “have Milan called “
And Levy said 'Yes. They asked have we any decent lbs we want shot of. I said no. Ba doom cha.'
Bloody Levy, always the joker.
