Credit to Sanchez he didn’t let the booing get to him and he put in a top shift against Barcelona. I all for moving on and upgrading Sanchez but I think he’d be behind moving Dier and Tanganga out.

Played well today. Might still have a future here at Spurs and honestly, I wouldn't be annoyed if he stayed as a backup CB to Romero as Sanchez seems to be a significantly better fit in Ange's system than Dier.

i thought he had a good game when he came on, especially so early after Romer had to go off. Any idea why Dier not in the squad, possibly on the way out?

Credit where it’s due, that was a good performance from Sanchez, especially given the circumstances. Right call to keep him ahead of Dier IMO.

All the spurs stuff is off his insta I reckon he's going. Sanchez on merit from Barca and today earning that reserve slot.

yeah i saw Dier took his stuff off Insta, but i thought he put it back on again, anyway thats for Dier thread.
Would be happy with Sanchez as a backup, and i never thought i would say that lol

I agree, he even looks better on the ball this year. Really surprising but pleased for him.

I've defended him for years. He's a decent player. Thought he did well today

It's odd, under conte he looked like a man under pressure all the time. He looks different under ange.

Being yelled at and told “don’t f*ck up!”vs being told “just go play I have your back if you mess up”

I’d keep him this year off the back of Barca and today. Hopefully as the fourth option after Romero, VDV and someone else. But he has the pace and physicality to play in this system, which can’t be said for Dier, Davies or Tanganga (two of whom don’t appear to be in Ange’s plans).

Pure speculation but I wonder if Ange’s style of “I don’t care if you make a mistake carrying out my style of play” has helped Davinson with confidence. He used to look terrified of making a mistake, and seems so much more composed now. Early days, small sample size and all that, but it’s encouraging.

edit: see others have made this point already. I think it’s very valid.

Could we see the Sanchez we first saw under Poch in a system that actually plays to his strengths? He suits the high line down to the ground and the last time he was able to play in one was about 4 years ago. I’m perfectly happy to have him as a backup personally, hopefully we sign another good CB to go along with him, Romero and VDV, it would make a very solid set in my opinion.

For sure I would keep him along with Romero and VdV. Get 1 more for lcb and I think we will have a lot to build on.
