Think we need a much larger sample size before we start citing Sanchez as someone we can rely upon regularly but obviously tonight was encouraging.

So happy for Dav that he had a strong game, he has copped a lot of shit.

I really wish him well and hope that this game can earn him a decent shot in another team. He is not without talent but he just never suited Conte or Jose low block game and with us buying CBs atm, he obviously doesn't have much of a future with us.

Even if Ange is impressed and he stays Dav has been quoted as saying he wants more games so 4th or 5th choice here is not going to do his career much good and he won't want to lose his spot in the Columbian international team.

I really wish him luck.

Tbh Sanchez' good performances were normally very good performances. Like 9/10 .

Problem's always been he'd follow it up with a 4/10 the next game

His defensive attributes actually perfectly fit what Ange needs in a CB (as seen tonight), it's just that his offensive attributes don't.

I said it in the match thread: he's a massive confidence player and always has been.

Even on the ball his technique looks much better when he's confident and suddenly he's pulling off really nice passes out of nowhere and making perfectly timed challenges.

Thing is, as soon as his confidence wavers he's back to being that 4/10 player full of mistakes and poor touches.

We've been through this cycle in the thread countless times before - basically whenever Sanchez has one of these 9/10 games every year or so.

Didn’t get to see the match, but so glad he did well tonight.

In a high line defence I honestly think he’s our best option of the “undesirables“. If we get Laporte (or Tapsoba or someone of real quality, a leader and a cool head), he should be the backup for Romero. Who will be out injured and for bookings - a lot, if the last two seasons are anything to go by.

At the same time, he’s also most likely the easiest defender to sell and get some kind of value for.

Tanganga and Rodon are must-go. We most likely will have to keep at least one out of Dier and Sanchez to have enough players for injuries etc. Both of the latter are also in their last year of contract, so won’t give loads of money in but it’s about getting players off the books as well.

if that was the last match he plays for us, way to go out with a bang. That was the Big Dav we bought from Ajax. He is just never consistent enough for the Prem. It's a shame but there is a great player in there especially for the spanish league. Wouldn't be shocked if a Sevilla buys him and he turns into an insane player for em. Happened for Fazzi bear when he went to Roma. Some players just work in different leagues to no fault of their own.

would be ideal for him but they probabaly only offer a loan, they are pretty broke although they'll have UCL thanks to thier UEFA Cup win

they never spend big and rely on loans

I'm inclined to ask why on earth would he want to stay and play for our fans the way they've treated him?
Couldn't agree more. Some of those same "fans" hammer players for what they regard as a lack of loyalty without any self awareness

Didn't watch it but glad he had a good game.
If we were scouting him we'd have said he was exactly what we need in defence. He was strong, composed, amazing on the recovery and actually passed really well.

I prefer him over dier any way but after that if you were choosing who to keep it is absolutely a no brainer.

I looked for a rodon thread but couldn't find one.

Going on loan to Leeds

Conveniently it's in the loan section
