Saw a detailed scouting report of him playing RB.Also seen him numerous times for Ajax as RCB ending up in RB position bombing forward. He could easily play RWB.Imo he is so talented he could literally play anywhere.will unquestionably be fastest player at the club.

We could have played 3 at the back yesterday but the reason we didn't is because we didnt have wing backs available with Walker gone and Rose injured. Trippier and Davies are fine as fullbacks in a 4 (but we then need the attacking guys to open up the defence with movement and guile if not pace.
But as a pair they don't offer enough pace or dynamism that Poch needs for the 3 at the back system to work... hence why it is so important we a) get Danny back b) we get a pacy right back as an option
I do not believe that for a second. Reason is, Davies and Trippier were indeed very, very far up the pitch frequently. In fact, there were times that they were as far up as Harry Kane himself, and no other player was as far up as those three. It sort of looked like we played 2 CBs and 2 WBs, which I know doesn't make sense, but it underlines dearly the need we've had this summer for CB signing(s).

They may have been far up the pitch but yesterday they created very little and certainly didn't get behind the Chelsea defence in a position to provide some decent crosses. Kane did that more often that they did.

If they'd been behind the Chelsea defence they'd have got booked for leaving the pitch without the ref's permission! The one and only time Trippier did find some space he put in a stonking ball that Harry was all over bar a very good challenge from his marker.

Whether or not they were successful is not central to this specific discussion, though. The initial claim was that we didn't use 3 CBs because we didn't have wing backs. I don't believe that's the case, because Davies and Trippier were in fact used as wing backs, subsequently wing backs were not the reason for not deploying 3 CBs. We did play with wing backs, even if they were winging it and it sort of back fired.

Anyone else have niggling doubts about how he treated Ajax in order to get the move to us? Kind of went on strike and acted the prick. We wouldn't be happy if he did the same to us.

But of course let's look forward and hope he's a defensive colossus for us for years to come!

Can't control what players do to get a move to us.

Not manure's fault that Rose spat his dummy out, publicly, to get a move there, tbf.

Love the signing as it adds some *now* much needed pure athletic ability to our backline. Also, should we land Aurier, pairing him with Sanchez could be an amazingly talented right side of defense with the ability to interchange very fluidly.

A little worried that we have bought him because it is likely Toby will be off. Either we get Toby to sign a new contract or we might cash in on him. At least it looks like we are preparing for when Toby and or Jan are not around, which is good planning
