I have no confidence of this guy playing well under pressure (and when he does I am surprised) and that speaks volumes

Said a while back that Sanchez wasn't good enough but admitted I would hold my hands up if he proved me wrong. I came here a few weeks back to do exactly that as I had seen a marked improvement. Tonight however is the kind of thing that I was talking about. He has been catastrophic!!!! And this is the problem with him, he will always have these type of games in him. Get Dier back and then in the Summer we will bring a LCB in to play alongside Romero & Dier.
Pretty much ? this.

I just hope he plays well enough when called upon so that he’s still worth something and has suitors. All I ask, at this point.

Years waiting to see the back of this clown, yet he is still here, get him out this summer at all costs.

Sanchez could not play well with Trippier. He could not play well with Aurier. He fucking cannot play well with Royal. There's a pattern forming whatever RB we have.

I sometimes feel Sanchez tries to much. Emerson needed help as he wasn't getting any from an absolutely abysmal midfield.

Sanchez had been playing really well under Conte against Southampton he had an off day but in fairness there was mitigating circumstances.
In a 3-4-3 formation, when the defending team come under preasure the central mid's are there to clog up the middle and it's the RCB's job to help the RWB, not the midfield's job.

The sheer panic he exudes just spreads to the rest of the team. Every week i watch on in sheer disbelief that some of these so called professionals lack the slightest bit of ability to pass a ball to a team mate. That run he did in the first half was comical where the simplest of passes was on to Kane in the centre and he just shanked it straight to a Soton player to let them start a counter attack.

He needed to be sold two seasons ago but like Winks still somehow manages to get starts for us.

What about that run forward he did last night and then managed to misplace a simple 5 yard pass out wide and completely ruined an attack.

He is so poor on the ball, so it's not even just his defending which is rubbish.

Total lack of technical ability on the ball great athlete off it but that's all he has is his athleticism and he knows it which causes him to panic and then that visibly clear panic spreads to the rest of the team. Must be upgraded at all costs.

To my mind there are generally two types of defenders :

1)Those who are composed with good decision making and technically accomplished on the ball

2)Those who may be technically limited, but are physically dominant both on the ground and in the air and can read the game.

Of course, the best defenders can do both.

Sanchez does neither.

Why can't the guy actually stay on his feel feet for 90 minutes?

Honestly don't think I've ever seen a player slip/fall over so much.

Spot on.

I've also never seen such an accurate human representation of the phrase 'bambi on ice'.

What exactly is his issue? He never looks like he is fully in control of his body, his balance is dreadful, he just always looks all over the place.

There is a reason Mourinho targeted Sanchez in the 2017 UEL final between Man United and Ajax. It’s five years ago this year and yet Sanchez is still the same player. Very worrying.

The funny thing is, whilst I’ve always maintained he’s not good enough, there have been a few games recently where I’ve watched him and he has seemed a little bit better on the ball and less panicked. I thought “wow, if Conte can manage to improve this aspect then he’s truly a genius”.

However, as soon as the heat is turned up he just can’t hack it.

Yeah that was terrible (if I'm thinking of the same incident).

There were two totally free players inside of him (sorry can't remember who they were) but he somehow managed to play it behind both of them despite being under no pressure whatsoever.

He literally found the only part of the pitch that nobody could get to. Impressive stuff!
