We’ll take the option as his current market value is likely more than that anyways. Worst thing is you sell him for the same fee you paid a year from now.

If we don't sign him we'd need to sign someone else to fill his position. Would we be able to find anyone as good/better than him for the price quoted? His stats this season were poor, but let's be honest everyone apart from Kane and Bentancur has had a shocker.

For £35m we'd be stupid not to sign him IMO.

He needs to step up more next season. Been extremely underwhelming since returning from injury.

Are we potentially wasting £35m on a one paced player who cannot beat his man, score or assist or is it just a blip?
Now who wasn't underwhelming this season?

Even with the fact he’s been injured, out of form and rotated for Richy at times this season he’s still got 7 goals and 15 assists in 48 PL appearances since he joined. Taking into account we know he can perform better than this season I think it’s clear he’s a top player that we should be making permanent

I've read this kind of post a number of times as if this season doesn't tell us much about the quality of our players, rather than the alternative, which is the quality of our players explains this season. I just don't understand why the players are getting a pass. I don't even mean in terms of their attitude and questioning their committmnet, but simply in terms of their quality.

Deki is slow. There are no two ways around this. For an attacking player in the Prem, he's especially slow. That's not going to change. In his first season he was effective, but now, every single manager and defender in the league know his only threats are cutting inside to try and curl one in the top corner, or try and create and angle for a cross or cut back from the byeline. They don't need to get tight to him and if they can isolate him, his lack of pace means he's screwed. I really like him and wanted us to sign him, but I don't see why so many of our fans are in denial about how easy it is to defend against him once you know his game.

We have quite a couple more one show pony, besides a few slow players that kill our counters!

Really depends on who our manager is and tactics they want as to if we should keep Kulu or not but if we did sell him we’d have to replace him and Lucas otherwise we’d have such little creativity

One of our most talented players in the squad and the right age profile for us at a time when we need to cull a lot of players. It should be a no brainer to keep him on.

That being said - his form has been a worry this season, which I can partly put down to the god awful coaching mess we found ourselves in but if he were to decline by a similar amount next year then we could find ourselves with more expensive deadwood to shift. There were flashes of last season's Kulu yesterday which gives me hope - maybe the future for him is in a more central role with Porro taking his old RW position?

Think we would be mad not to take him. We all saw how good he was for 6 months. 6 months. He was killing it

He hasn’t played like a player desperate to sign long term at the club . His words after the game don’t fill me with confidence that he wants to sign . I think this is what Mason is talking about , he wants players that want to wear the shirt , fight for the shirt and kulu has been a by stander for the best part of 6 months .

No wonder his confidence is low if he has no idea if the club wants to keep him. Club waiting to see if new manager fancies him perhaps.
Players like to feel loved.

Another reason it would be good to have a new manager so he can decide whether to keep him or not

He did say last season that he wants to play for his dream club and only his close friends know who that is; ca’t imagine Real, Barcelona or Bayern being that interested

His dream club is arsenal. Been a fan of them since he was a kid

I won’t lose sleep either way. 25m is about right, but he’s looked sluggish on the back of his injuries this season.

I don’t think he’s productive enough, to leave as a third forward high up the pitch.

Levy will be looking to negotiate the number down but the most important point is does the new manager like him/want to try him in the Odour guard role?

Fck nose.

Every single team in the Prem is going to show him the outside, as they have for the last 6 months. This is probably what happened in Italy as well. It's never going to change. He's never going to have the pace to threaten on the outside and his right foot isn't good enough to whip in crosses. Hence, he'll always look to cut in and shoot with his left. Every single manager knows this. It's so exciting to see young, talented players, have a real impact in a Spurs shirt. It allows us to dream of the next Bale, Kane or Son etc. Hence we desperately want Deki to suceed and hope the last 6 months are a blip, due to the turmoil at the club. But, every team will show him the outside for the rest of his Prem career.

Sonny loves to cut in a shoot with his right. Bale loves to do it with his left. But both have the pace to go on the outside, so it's a nightmare for defenders. Without that option, they'd both have been foot notes in Spurs history.

I thought this would be a no brainer but now Im not so sure. He's very slow and I think he's pretty easy to defend against when he's wide. However, he is very talented and I'd be tempted to keep him and play him as a 10 instead.
