LOL, I remember Defoe going on a great goalscoring run and you wanted him out the team as he didn't offer enough other than goals
Oh the cognitive dissonance that this comment should produce. Of course that presupposes certain things. I wonder if you will get a reply. I do appreciate this little nugget. Well done.

Honest question, do u actually speak like this irl? or is it something you adopt when you're attempting to insult people's intelligence on football forums?

Bet the kid scores a worldly today...

I haven't kept up to date, but I hope someone has pointed out that the kid is being marked, kicked and given attention that you see given to the liked of Messi or Ginola. That's a big obstacle for someone in only their third season of top flight football, not yet 21. It will cause inconsistent performances now, but long term it will improve him.

Nope, Esperanto. But seeing as English is the most used I figured when in Rome and all. Would you prefer it with a few more bluds and fams?

No insult intended nor implied. Exposure of hypocrisy enjoyed however.

What was Defoe's great goalscoring run? I don't think he was every hitting rates of 1 in 2, and he was playing as an out and out striker.

You're ignoring the massive difference in that Defoe's entire career has been built on his ability to do one thing...score goals.
More nonsense from you I'm afraid fam.

Woah, woah, woah! I didn't write the post, @dontcallme did. And I replied to him as I was interested in whether nicdic would consistently apply his reasoning in calling for Defoe's benching. This is the crux of the debate here as the cry for Son to be utilized in Dele's stead is for this very reason.

And what is the defense trotted out by Dele's defenders for his poor play?

I believe it was the 2012/13 season when he scored 9 in the first 13 games. You still couldn'tgive him credit and argued he offered nothing but goals, now you are using the same to defend Alli.

My opinion of Alli is that he offers more than goals. I've replied to you before stating he has a lot of assists and works hard off the ball.

I've never denied he has had a poor start to the season.

Urgh....What happened to 'when in Rome'?
Im just glad our manager can see that DROPPING one of our best players because
he's having a poor start to the season isn't the best thing for him or the team (in the long run).

I don't believe I ever stated that. Must be some crossed wires. Your objection to my post was for 'exaggeration'. I fully understand your position and we both agree on his poor start. We disagree on the last part as I believe others might provide more of both in his position and I think Poch does as well hence Ross Barkley interest. And again I don't want him sent to China but I would like to see progress in his game.

I’ve been really impressed with dele’s hard work off the ball this season. This makes me think his attitude/motivation is fine, even if he has seemed a bit moody at times.

I also think a slightly deeper role suits him better than this second striker position he’s had recently. I’d actually rather son played that role with Dele back in the midfield with eriksen, in the role sisokko played vs Everton.

Posted this in the match thread and was wondering what others thoughts are on it.

I really am concerned about Alli, his head looks like it is elsewhere, have had that feeling since preseason, part of me thinks it's down to the wages (the agent talk probably confirms this) and him believing his own hype a little too much, all the marketing he has been doing etc.

He needs to focus on the football and doing his job, I know he had an assist today and a player of his talent is capable of that but he could have equally have cost us the game with the amount of sloppy touches he was making and bad decisions.

Poch needs a word with him, looks a different player to last season, maybe next could do with being out of the team and replaced with Son for a few games.

What do you all think?
