Another pre Conte recruitment target. Who really is riding this horse?
Every club has in house targets,I doubt we’d bring them in if conte said no, however one day conte will leave and we can’t be left with players specifically for his system.

I’m pretty sure it happens at every club

This kid looks insanely talented. We should just go for him instead.
If Boro don't get promoted this season we absolutely should sound him out. I have a feeling Wilder will take them up via the playoffs though, they're 6th now and been great since he came in and replaced Warnock.

Regarding Spence, I don't like any talk of attitude problems either current or in the past. We've been burned enough on that front now.

They've got Isaiah Jones who is legit. We should take a look. Here's a match comp of him

If that was a clip of Traore, I'd be expecting a bunch of sarcastic & oh so funny "notice how the footage cuts off before a cross is attempted" posts.

I would prefer him to Traore in the wing back spot but whether he is attacking enough or has the end product in terms of goals and assists is another question. Young, english and seems to like the big matches. I could see why we are keeping tabs.

Wont be available this season, so it would be a Dele Alli type signing where we get him next season. I think it'd be a solid signing, much higher prospect that Clarke/Rodon.

Tore Sessengon apart when we played them a few years ago. Seen him play a handful of times and always impressed but there must be off-field issues why he's not progressed.

Fits the mould but doesn't solve the immediate issue.

A Boro fan and his take on the lad.

He’s been decent for Forest this season, but throughout his career, every manager has mentioned what a shit attitude he has, except for Cooper. It’s why Fulham’s academy released him. He then did well for us, did well against spurs in the FA Cup, then got a new contract and stopped putting effort in. Woodgate gave up on him after that, same opinion from Warnock, same opinion from Wilder
Lads got ability, but I’ve got no faith he’ll put it all together. Not to mention he’ll have to be loaned back to us and bench warm for the rest of the season

He’s not even the best young, London born, right wing back at the club. Hence why we shipped him out on loan to Forest

The lad has been decent for Forest this season, hence the links. But any time these links pop up or he’s been rewarded with a contract, he’s immediately shut up shop and stopped playing well.

Also why every other manager in his career but Steve Cooper has mentioned his shit attitude

He’s clearly got ability, but this is exactly how well he played for us when we were briefly doing well under Woodgate. And what followed was 2 years of some of the most pathetic performances going

Forest fans will understandably have a lot of faith in him, and that’s completely fair. I and most Boro fans don’t however.

Too many managers have reported attitude / character related issues, big red flags
Maybe he just doesn't respond well to managers with surnames beginning with W and loves managers with surnames beginning with C? Issues with Woodgate, Warnock and Wilder. No issues with Cooper (and Conte)...

Am I the only one who has David Bowie's "Let's Dance" going through their head when reading his name?

Who could ever have even the slightest issue with a Cooper? :cautious:

I'm not surprised if they have this Isiah Jones kid.

Let's not get it twisted, he was OUTSTANDING against Arsenal, Ally McCoist was waxing lyrical about him. That's no fluke.

Warnock said he wants to go forward more and that suits his game so he's clearly an attacking full back and that's what we need. If Warnock was trying to make him be a typical defensive full back then perhaps that was why they were butting heads.

Boro under Warnock were dreadful… they played defensive football without any form of counter attack. Defensive wing backs and 2-3 defensive midfielders. Whereas under Wilder they’ve the same formation but play a lot more attacking football. I take it they’re looking for a cash injection, therefore when an EPL club takes a shine to one of your players, especially one that’s on loan at another Championship club you would take the money and run.

The general narrative on Spence is that he’s very talented and has a high ceiling but has attitude/arrogance problems ??‍♂️
Sign him up!!!

I swear I remember him making his debut for Middlesbrough against us a few years ago?
Maybe in the FA cup?

I remember thinking back then that he looked pretty good in that game against us.

Personally really like the look of Ramsay at Aberdeen. Seems to have a great skillset for the RWB position.

I see a flaw in your logic here. :p

It's a half-joke, as I do rate Sess - just unsure he's actually going to go on to fulfil the promise he showed with Fulham. I'll be completely honest and say I haven't seen much of him play, but people rating him on a half-remembered performance us, of all teams, and one game against Arsenal (also in a cup match, by the way), reeks of pure desperation to get someone, anyone in.

I would tend to be wary of this transfer based on what previous managers have said, his record in the Championship to date, and because it seems he only 'turns it on' against top sides. In any case, Herc has interested in Johnson at Forest, not this kid.

It will be interesting to see which direction we are going to go in for a young rwb, Spence, Ramsay, Mensah, etc.
