The SC method of negotiation.

We want £50m for this untested Championship player.
All right, we'll pay.
We also want £10m after 10 appearances.
All right, we'll pay.
And, £15m after he gets 5 goals.
All right, we'll pay.
And.
Just get the player to sign. Send us a bill and we'll pay.

And then if it doesn't work out: "Just get rid. Levy is asking too much wanting £10 for him"

Top business brains we have here on SC.

This thread is a collection of similarly themed posts appearing to be repeated over and over again, it's quite bizarre.

(This includes the updates about negotiations, Gibson and Boro, Levy and Spurs, deadlines, fee agreements, closeness, HG quota, puns, ...................)

It's basically the Tomiyasu thread from last summer (without the HG chat)

Not only this thread… every ‘update’ covered in the media is the same too!

And people posting about these issues, without being constructive.

Like my current post.

Williams has played in the prem and europe, played at full international level and won the championship.

He' s achieved more than Spence so Spence should not be £17m, let alone any higher.
But nobody has ever watched Williams against premier league opposition and thought, wow, he’s completely dominated that right side. Everyone did that with Spence for the Leicester and Arsenal games. Everyone watching took notice of his performance.

I would be fine with £20m fee or thereabouts, anything around £30m+ though is a nonsense.

I see that Dani Alves has been released by Barcelona. Arguably the best wingback in history. Definitely the best RWB

He's not homegrown and he's 39 and probably knackered but just saying :)
