0-0, Spence played right wing in a 3-5-2.

Genova Today:
SPENCE 6.5: After the very difficult race with Lecce, he redeemed himself in Empoli with a very disciplined game, almost unlocked the race with a big break and the header rejected on the goal line by Luperto.

I don’t get why it’s benched instead of a substitute?
And hooked at half time instead of replaced at half time.
Just makes it sound anti.

Whichever way you put it, it’s never a good look to get taken off at half time. Unless there’s a tactical reason.

Got 30 min against Inter and based on dodgy Twitter translations seems like he did pretty well, put in a dangerous cross that could have been the equalizer but was headed just wide. A few calls for him to start their next match.

Game ended 0-0. Spence played the full 90 and was rated 7.4 by Fotmob which is second highest on the team, only behind their goalkeeper.

55 touches and 24/25 accurate passes

Yep, a solid performance and got forward well in the first half.

Report that Genoa want to make it permanent.

Genoa sporting director, Marco Ottolini: "We have created a good environment for him.

“We are trying to make him feel warm and welcome here, and this will then translate into his performances on the pitch. We want to give him the right conditions to perform.

“We still have seven games to go and we want to see what he can do. Personally, I like Djed and how he is doing, and how he is training.

“Of course, he can do more, and he knows this, but we are in contact with Spurs and will evaluate a deal over the next few months giving us time to understand our both position and Djed’s perspective on potentially staying here.”

Great to hear. Genoa don't strike me as a club with significant cash to spend, so I'm guessing a low transfer fee and sell on % of some nature in this deal.

Whenever a club is linked to one of our players I look to their recent signings to gauge how much they spend on players and if they can likely afford the player.

Genoa generally don't spend a lot but in recent seasons spent 9.7m Euros on Dragusin and Retegui. The big profit they made on Dragusin might allow them to spend a bit but my guess is they won't be going huge on anyone.

You can tell over the next few weeks the club will be seriously weighing up a move for Guðmundsson with the idea of Spence being part of the deal. I’m sure if we wanted to a deal could be done there, just depends if that’s who we want to go for.
