We won't even pay going rates for starting midfielders or fullbacks. We sure as shit aren't going to pay big bucks for 4th & 5th string AM options. To me upgrading Lamela & Lucas comes like 5th or 6th on the list of needs. Something to look for but not something we should focus on with our limited funds.

Oh, I agree. I was just commenting on Lamela's ability play well only when we are on form with our key players on the pitch. In comparison players like Son, Winks and Sissoko have put in brilliant performances even when we've been injury struck.

Yes he didn't create anything of note, however he was the only player that was winning possession off Chelsea.

How he was hauled off before the toothless Dane, has me stumped.

He tries hard and he has shown some genuine quality over the years at times, but this season he’s offered very little. Nowhere near good enough to be considered a first choice attacking player.

We looked diabolical after he came off

I will never understand the LLorente sub that early into the 2nd half our past 2 games for as long as I live. Infact I do understand why he's doing it, I just don't understand why Poch thinks it's a good plan over bringing Moura on.

A move would suit everyone involved imo.
Same with Lucas and Trippier.

I think he’s a decent enough squad player. At least he’s generally sensible with the ball and doesn’t overestimate his abilities making terrible attempts at passing like Lucas does.

We need better quality and he needs to be a regular starter for someone.

Agree. Look how Sarri took Hazard off and they played even better. Poch bangs on about ‘respecting the squad’ but is terrified to take Eriksen off when he’s not playing well.

Lamela has proven to be a bit of an Enigma, hasn't he? He looked the most determined out there tonight and as others have said, looked like the only one who really gave a shit, but there was no incisive passes, no threat at goal, just a bloody good determination. At least if the other 10 had his determination we might have got something out of this game tonight.
