He's the only player to score against Chelsea in 5 games against them under Jose... lol

Lamela was much better tonight
Played with purpose.
didnt really create anything (as we know, he wasn’t alone there)
But he did at least play like he had an idea and some intent.
So fairs fair

I fortunately couldn't watch the game (I was all day busy at work, and luckily got the score spoiled right when I was about to download it), but that doesn't surprise me as it sounds kinda like a typical Lamela performance.

Yeah it was
He showed some nice touches, roughed up rudiger nicely and left us all feeling like he might come good

I love Lamela. If he was able to stay healthy, he’d be an incredible squad player to have. He just simply never stops. His drive is always a level above. You just cant teach that level of commitment & desire. Sometimes he hold the ball too long. But his drive is more than worth it. He always gives us that bite we need when he comes on. He always lays it all on the line whether in the XI, off the bench or when he plays hurt like he did last season when we had nobody fit & he couldnt train for months before the pandemic imposed break. You simply cannot fault that.

Hope he stays fit as can’t remember last time he put a string of games together, or had a really good match twice in a row.

He seems to have a game like today then fades away again, but he clearly has the talent.

I can only assume Jose noted his importance today (even in our last game he was our best player coming off the bench) and is going to start him against Everton. He is our only fit true creative playmaker, Ndombele and Kane can also create of course but one is a 8 and the other a 9. So until Gio and Dele are fully fit Coco needs to be starting as long as he’s fit.

Where are we at, medically/scientifically, with being able to replace all of his tendons/ligaments/muscles/bones in his legs with bionic material while keeping the outward appearance of his natural appearance?

When we do, can we bring Ledley back too?

Really hope that when Lo Celso is fit again Mourinho will play all three of Lamela, N'dombele and Lo Celso to tee up Kane and Son with service. Would be a really exciting side to see and PEH would give it the foundation to play from.

What i really like about him is that he never hides. He's always trying to make things happen.

Also got his customary booking. I love his fouling and shithousery

Embodiment of the attitude we need if this system Mourinho employs is ever going to work. 110% committed to the cause.

I feel so bad for always adding him to my deadwood list because of the horrible injuries, but he’s definitely the last one that needs to go and earns his spot in the squad until the other 8-9 have been sold.

It’s going to be exciting to see him, GLC and Ndombele on the field together.

The problem with the latter comes that he's walking yellow card, so if he's having a good game and setting a good tempo (like today against WBA) then he picks up a yellow knows he can no longer tackle so his effectiveness drops off a cliff as does the team when he's inevitably subbed because of it (see vs WBA today as a casing point)

It's a good job we were two nil up at that point and wasn't a side more dangerous.

If there's player out there with all his pluses with a semi-competent weak foot, that plays with his head up and doesn't have the injury record Lamela has then that'd be ideal.

To be honest, think most of his injuries are a result of his intensity in games. Doesn’t matter if it’s the 91st minute , 4-0 up, Lamela is 100% full on until the final whistle with no protecting himself or lift in his application.

Makes such a big difference having a dedicated attacking midfielder in the side. Lamela isn't the long term solution, but as GLC is still injured and we still haven't attempted to replace Eriksen otherwise - he needs to be starting games at the moment.

So now he's liked again??

A couple pages ago it was nothing but sell, not good enough, shit etc etc

I dont understand why you need to virtue signal. I wouldn't sell him, he's incredibly useful. He came on at halftime v Southampton and played away to utd. We generally play better with him involved.

I'm a big fan of Erik, and I'm pretty sure I've had a lot of agreement in recently weeks when I've repeated it.

e.g https://www.spurscommunity.co.uk/in...ch-thread-day-21.144537/page-114#post-7184883
and https://www.spurscommunity.co.uk/in...discussion-thread.144331/page-14#post-7157377

As with a lot of threads, it's usually 3 or 4 people hammering the same point, turning the thread into an echo chamber.

Absolutely this. He is always up for it and gives it energy.

Probably shames others into trying harder!
